A C4C Reaction From Timothy Wilken

As a synergic scientist and physician, I see pursuing a vocation from the perspective of biology. Humanity is at the cusp of major transformation. That change is from the paradigm of neutrality to the paradigm of synergy. Synergic organization is new to humanity, but it is not new to biology.

Your body is a perfect synergic organization of 40 trillion cells all working together to create that phenomenon called 'YOU'. Each cell makes its best contribution to the body as a whole. Each trusts its survival to the body as a whole.

Within the synergic organization of your body, each cell lives along the river of blood. Each cell does whatever it does best and throws its contribution into the river. If that cell needs anything, it simply withdraws it from the river. This system works well because it is a synergic organization.

Today we humans are at best, trapped within neutral organizations, and at worse, within adversary organizations. In this present reality, we are each responsible for our own survival as individuals. Our present neutral communities ignore the cells (individuals) of their own bodies.

Our call to embrace vocation only works within synergic organizations, and there it works very well. In neutral organizations where we are paid for selling the hours of our lives to service the goals of other individuals, choosing vocation may only result in failure.

What to do?

We begin by creating small synergic organizations. Within these groups choosing vocation then makes sense. We begin by choosing to survive together. This is the major message of Daniel Quinn's New Tribalism. If we commit ourselves to surviving together, then it makes complete sense to share what we do best with those in our group, trusting that the group's combined vocations will achieve survival for us all. This is where vocation really makes sense.

In the mean time, most of us are trapped in careers, earning a 9 to 5 living, able only to practice our vocations on the weekends.

Bound through synergy
