urban co-housing done with an enlightend core group can

visiting idealistic communities, I have an intuitive sense that
once they "feather their own nest", they become complacent and
lose their sense of mission and purpose. I believe it is key that
community outreach remind cooperators of those who are
hurting. Then they can say "There but for the grace of god go I"
and " Yes ,I am my Brothers keeper" , especially when that
Brother wants to meet me half way. Community outreach is essential
to sustain the long term vision. Even though I love my small
service business, I love to do it as little as possible, so I
can devote more time to reading and asking burning questions
such as what motivates people and why they don't see the limits
of their social helping. I try to jog each day for 20 min on a
golf course or park nearby to prevent this slow but inquisitive
mind from doing this 6'4" 245lbs [20lbs overweight] body
in. Tennis and Basketball are fun also but are rough on my
knees. Each sunday, I attend a Unitarian/Universalist service at
9am in Westport,Ct.and an 11am service in Redding ,Ct. Many there
seem to be the wholistic thinkers I enjoy conversing with. The
sermons in both services inspire me, but my growing edge is in
stepping out and walk the walk. I'm looking forward to meet many

Background: Raised in a Christian Science family. Moved on from
CS in my early 20's. Later read the Quimby Manuscripts which are
the writings of the hypnotist/healer who taught Mary Baker Eddy
how to heal people. He described techniques that seemed to engage
what he called a spirit body. Later in Life After Life, by
Raymond Moody, I encountered the near death stories about people
leaving their bodies in a "spirit" body, and this reminded me of
the writings of Quimby. Finally, I have been studying the Toltec
works of Carlos Casteneda. In these writings they seem to
strategically develop and manipulate the spirit body via lucid
dreaming and the control of elements of the will. I believe that
this spirit body component of our existence is highly
underdeveloped and may be very significant in terms of effecting
positive change in the human condition.

For me, a life dedicated to Spirit, is the most important thing in my
life. I feel like I've chosen a path, and have recently remembered it! I
read constantly, and although I've read on many topics, recently.. (in the
last 15 years), my reading topics have been almost exclusively geared to
suit the Spirit. When I chanced upon "The Celestine Prophecy", I felt as
though it was written for me. I was living the Insights, and as far as I
could remember, always had been. I know, I had major changes due to the
NDE,( and it took years to integrate them!).. but intuitively feels right.
I have come to a place of deep peace within my life.. and as I said, love
to share that, with anyone who happens by.
My work, as an Artist is fulfilling, and I get to meet many people in shows
and other events. I had been a Surgical Nurse, (Before the crash!).. for 15
years, and was becomming disillusioned by the atmosphere of Nursing and
the health Field in general in the 70's. I went into that profession to
care for people, not do "piece-work" on them! Many of my fellow Nurses were
dealing with the same feelings. I think what happened to many of us, then,
helped to change the Health field, today. We found it was not meeting the
care of us, as individuals. It had lost focus, and started to be the
"Business of Medicine". I am happy to see the changes coming about in
integrating Holistic thinking in this field, too!
I was glad to have happened upon your site, being fairly new to the

life nowaday is what brings most of us down. I like the idea of a new
civilization. But I think we need to work on ours now though. We
just can't run off to an island in the sea and be in bliss. If we did
people would start calling it a cult and not understand what's going
on. We the people of now. Or should I say the feelers of today, are
what is going to bring around the necessary changes that we are all
desperatly seeking. We all need to come together. This page that I
happened to come across looks like a good start. Thats why I decided
to join. I was only on the page for a few minutes, read the FAQ's,
and then decided to join.
I have been on my journey (focused) for a year now. I've learned
alot in the last year and am looking forward to more. I've had one
major mystical experience, and a few small ones. Ever since a trip to
Ireland last year things just haven't been the same. I'm looking
forward to receiving any mail or comments. You have my fathers E-mail
