Welcoming autumn with a fiesta15 comments

These days I've been enjoying the 10-days-fiesta that takes place every September in Oviedo, my city (located in Asturias, northern Spain). This holiday finishes the same day as summer does, so it's a sort of a welcome to the autumn, with its warm breeze and golden veil of leaves. I love autumn! They are our local holidays and although we are a little city, hundreds of people come from everywhere to enjoy these days with us. The city was really crowded, full of people talking and eating in the streets and parks, laughing and enjoying the time...  More >

Last week I started my vacation travelling to Portugal, a country where I've never been before. I took my mother with me, as she hadn't travelled anywhere since she came to visit me in California in 2003. What a wonderful trip! In their character, Portugueses are pretty similar to Spaniards: open, sociable, they like to be in a group, to eat outside in the street, to embrace and kiss the people when they are introduced... I felt myself like at home! But of course Portugal has its own identity, as I comment later in this article. At the end I include a link to the pics I took during this trip.  More >

I know, new NCN friend, it's an old story, but it's a good one! Let's just call it "a whale of a tale"

~*~
Dear Faith,
I just received my first copy of Angels Speak. My entire being is vibrating with the awesome emotions your stories elicited in me. What a wonderful e-zine/newsletter! I am so grateful I found it and subscribed. Such spectacular experiences with the dolphins and the whales! You are very blessed. I can understand your trepidation at swimming among something as huge as whales but if I were given such an invitation, I wouldn't ever forgive myself for not accepting it. I just felt moved to let you know what a wonderful, powerful publication, you offer to the world. I am overcome with gratitude for the gift from my angels who led me to find it.
Hugs and Blessings,
Lois

How often do we have time to just stop and think about our life? We are deeply immersed in our daily routine, such as job, family, responsabilities, expectations... Are we really in the driver's seat of our life? It's easy to lose our identity and to forget about ourselves, our own path, our desires and fears. Free time to reflect on ourselves is a treasure that we don't have the opportunity to enjoy very often. My opportunity came without expecting it.  More >

 I've Learned ...
picture 12 Jun 2005 @ 22:38, by scotty. Recreation, Fun

I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is
stalk them and hope they panic and give in...

I've learned that one good turn gets most of the blankets

I've learned that no matter how much I care, some people are just
jackasses.

I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.

I've learned that whatever hits the fan will not be evenly distributed.

I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself to others - they are more screwed up than you think

I've learned that depression is merely anger without enthusiasm.

I've learned that it is not what you wear; it is how you take it off.

I've learned to not sweat the petty things, and not pet the sweaty things. I've learned that ex's are like fungus, and keep coming back.I've learned age is a very high price to pay for maturity.

I've learned that I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy it.

I've learned that we are responsible for what we do, unless we are
celebrities.

I've learned that artificial intelligence is no match for natural
stupidity.

I've learned that 99% of the time when something isn't working in your
house, one of your kids did it

I've learned that there is a fine line between genius and insanity.

I've learned that the people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon and all the less important ones just never go away. And the real pains in the ass are permanent.

Oh Boy ! Jump for Joy !!
picture 19 Apr 2005 @ 21:19, by scotty. Recreation, Fun

Have any of you ever litterally 'jumped' for joy ?

Agalliao-jump for joy, exult, be exceedingly glad, with exceeding joy, rejoice (greatly)

I haven't !!!
At least I don't remember having done so ! NOt even when I was wee ... not even after Santa brought me that beautiful black walking/talking dolly that I named Mandy-Lou !!

I just never have jumped up and down for joy !

I've been known to take a big breath of air and sigh when I noticed how blue the sky is .. or how beautiful a flower is ...
I've even felt my pulse racing when I see someone that I love walking towards me with a smile on their face !

I remember sometimes really being on a 'high' ... like when school got out for the summer holidays ....

So many things that I've felt really happy about - joyous even - but I've never jumped up and down !!

Maybe it's my Brittish reserve (yeah even as a kid !) maybe it's because the feeling of joy had gone so deep that I just felt quietened by it !

Maybe that's why I've been a bit quieter of late ... I feel happy ... deep down ... my life is blessed and I feel full of Joy .... but I don't jump !!! heh heh heh

 The Wishing Wand !

Hi everyone !
I thought maybe you might all like this little adventure that a friend shared with me.

This is the way that it works.....

Here along the path of our spiritual journeys we have created a perfect spot where those who pass through can request one wish at a time !

Once you have requested this wish the next person who crosses your path must grant the wish (but in doing so must place a twist on it) so be careful for what you wish for!!!

For example: I might wish for a pet cat ...

and the next person who crosses my path may grant me this wish but write something like ...

As I wave my magic wand I grant you this wish - you now have a pet cat called Kitty - however kitty is lonely so goes in search of some feline friends and you can no longer find her.

So like I said be careful what you wish for ...

I hope you'll all enjoy asking for and granting wishes to everyone...and so - I shall start this off with ...

I wish that I could Fly like a bird.

Recollections of our childhood experiences are tinged by a rosy sense of wonder. I have often pondered the things we did as a family and the feelings that came with them.  More >
