24 Feb 2008 @ 04:36 by a-d : This is incerdible! 4 May 2008 @ 04:44 by Joe c Smith @76.91.56.56 : Humanity Unites Brillance (SCAM!) Humanity Unites Brilliance is a total scam. It masquerades as a charity but they are actually a FOR-PROFIT company which takes 36% percent off all income to pay its members! Notice how they mention that if you pay them $99/month - they... • Feed 3 children This is not alot of money - feeding children in third world nations costs pennies, not dollars. • Educate 3 children Again- cost is minute. • Provide Clean Water for 10 What do they consider clean? Do you know? This could be tap water... • Provide Environmental Sustainability Training for 16 (who actually provides this) • Provide a pooled Micro Loan for a New Family Each Month (This doesn't even cost them anything - Micro Financing is one of the most profitable areas of finance in the world!) YOUR MONEY IS GOING DIRECTLY INTO THEIR POCKETS! Don't be fooled, with $1250 dollars a year, you could buy a ton of empowerment cds, dvds and books. You could get involved in a true humanitarian effort if you really want to meet people and if you really want to make commissions off signing up friends and family then you should seek professional help. H.U.B. is a scam... ponzi scheme. Watch out! 12 May 2008 @ 22:11 by Elo Devi @70.231.235.212 : organizations I don't know anything about the man who put the comment above but I do know that organizations are worth supporting, and that the dollar doesn't go far anymore. How does one check out whether or not a vision really works or is a 'scam?' 1 Jun 2008 @ 21:45 by Marilyn Nyborg @65.98.205.226 : Scam or not? One of the things I look for before I consider getting involved is WHO are the founders? AND who are they attracting? It turns out that people I look up to like Rev. Michael Beckwith, Jean Houston, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Mark Victor Hansen and many many more ARE people I hold with honor. I KNOW and trust their integrity and if THEY see this opportunity as supportive and worthy I do too!! I have listen to the main visionary CHarlie Gay and if ANYONE can create a new model for supporting humanitarian work, non-profits and those who live in service HE CAN! HE IS. AN I AM P.S. It's 40% not 36% that go to members/non-profits. 10 Jun 2008 @ 07:04 by Paul Rodderdam @76.91.56.56 : Total Scam Joe, I think you actually are correct. Marilyn must be one of these HUB stoogies. The company is FOR PROFIT, any company that is for profit is not a humanitarian effort- profit by it's nature implies money making. The fact that they are using non-profit support as the reason to join but then stuffing the money into their own pockets and the pockets of their members is utterly disgusting. 10 Jun 2008 @ 07:12 by Nancy Sladden @76.91.56.56 : Look at the wording How ridiculous! They say they are givers but they are "Providing micro-loans for millions of entrepreneurs who are producing products and services designed to benefit the planet." Micro lending is one of the most lucrative forms of lending on the planet- because when micro lenders lend a penny, the interest which amounts to a penny tends to be 100% profit. Where is this money going, smart people? Yup, in the founders pockets I bet. 10 Jun 2008 @ 07:19 by Joe c smith @76.91.56.56 : Marilyn- Are you kidding? You look up to Beckwith, Houston, Hubbard, Hansen and many many more ??? These people want to sell you products and services- these people are making a great deal of money off you, they are not the Buddha or the second coming of christ! You say you know and trust their integrity and if THEY see this opportunity as supportive and worthy you do too... do you realize how foolish that is? It's a sad day for humanity that this company is allowed to profit with this scam. 10 Jun 2008 @ 14:57 by Matt @69.51.134.37 : To the naysayers... To the folks who are SURE Humanity Unites Brilliance is just another network marketing scam, I suggest you check out www.WhatIsHUB.com and watch some videos. HUB does not claim to be a non-profit. This is a FOR-PROFIT company that is offering PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, a vehicle for SUSTAINABLE charitable giving (thus the network marketing mechanism) and social networking you on the personal and business front (whatever your business may be.) They are very up-front about this. This is not the typical sit-down-and-be-ambushed-by-the-Amway-presentation experience, so if you're wanting to cut it down, educate yourself first. This is the BEST network marketing model I've ever seen and experienced and it's working for me already, without having to purchase a glut of products I wouldn't normally purchase, or sell tapes. It is FOR-Profit organization. They have never claimed to be a non-profit. NONE of the non-profit organizations donate 100% of their money to people in need. There is an advertisement cost, supply cost, transportation cost. Even non profit orgs spend 50% on their own needs and salaries. HUB is one of those organizations that use money wisely and that came up with an amazing idea on how to help, develop and grow at the same time. By giving you receive... Only narrow minded people who can't see passed the "giving back" idea, miss the idea of exponential giving and what amazing things it can do. It is not about making money and it is not about cashing in on other people(you can't make a lot on it). It is about a plan on how to take one person - feed them, teach them a trade, give them a little bit money to start their business, provide them a way to sell their product and make sure that they succeed. Giving $100 a year is not going to change the world. I would like to hear the thoughts of this smart person who claims to know what scam is and who shows anamazing intelligence by knowing what fighting poverty and saving people from death means... 17 Jun 2008 @ 00:17 by sally fifer @76.166.184.253 : I do not recommend giving money to HUB There are A LOT of organizations that give 100% of donations directly to those in need. HUB is not the best way to help people if you want your money to have the most impact. 40% is simply not enough. It should be 80% at the very least. 17 Jun 2008 @ 13:01 by Eric Archie @196.25.255.218 : Not sure about these guys Having looked at this whole HUB model,it seeems to me to be nearly the same as an Amway pyramid scheme. The guys at the top get rich. Besides,it looks like they are purely tradingon the strength of their 'partners', they themselves have no real credibility. What transapency do they haev on how they distribute their funding. May have good intentions, but rather give to the NGO's direct! That way they get 100% 3 Jul 2008 @ 18:13 by Julia @67.188.183.229 : Thank you for your passion How interesting is to read all your comments, dear friends. You know, before I joined HUB I was totally and completely against network marketing. And, not because I thought it's illegal (it can be actually totally legal, if the company is in accordance with the law) but I just didn't like to "sell". I was friends with people who founded HUB before HUB actually happened. So, I knew their hearts, and I knew how much they tried to make a difference in the world even before HUB was born. I said YES to the vision of Humanity Unites Brilliance even before they decided that a network marketing model would be the best way to generate exponential giving i.e. EXPONENTIAL IMPACT. I actually has doe doubt come up when they informed me that network marketing is the case. Yet, my heart was already on fire. Seeing the difference they were to create in Africa had already opened my heart in a way that couldn't be resisted. The executive founders of HUB told me that even they were reluctant to consider network marketing model because believe it or not, even they had a bit of resistance to that. Yet, how else to create the momentum of EXPONENTIAL GIVING, where we can create win-win situation for people who invest as well as people who receive? How to motivate people to make a difference? How to make it easy and affordable to them, so they don't have to give $99 out of their pocket but by sharing HUB with others they actually get their money back? So, they end up covering their $99, and possible even creating abundance for themselves on the top of that? And, if they don't want that extra abundance in their life, they can give it back to HUB's humanitarian programs. It's their choice. We are working with the highest network marketing law attorneys in the whole country. And, they guide our way every day. Originally HUB was all about giving, but once we started working with these attorney's they made us shift many things to bring us in accordance with the law. So, how we look now, is the best combination of our original vision and mission and the law that requires us to have a product etc. Sending you all many blessings. I appreciate your passion. Even if your passion flows against HUB - I still give thanks for your ability to be on fire. That's the beauty of being alive - to feel, be passionate, and express our gifts and uniqueness freely.
