The original ankh is a mystery surrounded by theories.
I've always believed it was symbolic of the human form. To my way of thinking, putting myself back toward the beginnings of mankind, their mentality would have been to be buried with arms outstretched (not crossed over the chest or beside the body), therefore, I believe it was in the form of the most desired coffin shape; the ankh was a daily reminder that one day the possessor would pass away and therefore must use their time wisely while in the present.
My model represents the human form with a head, arms, and legs but deals more with the living than the dead. The legs are covered by a robe (a cone), the arms (at heart level) can be moved about in any direction, and the head (a crystal sphere with the map of the earth etched on its surface) represents worlds within each of our individual minds.
Yet, it still conveys another message; the cone represents FOCUS, the heart dispenses LOVE with the arms, and the head represents CLEAR thinking; it is also optical like a crystal ball.
Overall, to me, it has an angelic aura about it.
ULTIMATELY, it conveys the idea that we should all love one another.
WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD IT COULD BE!
WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD IT WOULD BE!
LIVING LIFE IN HARMONY!

I decided to photograph and post it here after I had a recent inquiry about the ankh. It is constructed from chromium and crystal.
