Welcome to The NCN Poet Tree Anthology...we hope you'll enjoy this evolving, involving and revolving selection of prose from NCN poets, worldwide - submissions are welcomed.
Here's an adornment of our poet tree called Abandono, by Monica Korycinska. The poem has been written in Spanish, but you can find an English translation as well.

Abandono

English translation:

Abandonment

Then he closed his eyes and the world stopped,
My blood ceased to flow through the valleys of my veins,
Then his lips spoke no more and the moon was ruptured,
My soul no more to dance by the shores of my sorrow.

The sky stopped bowing down offering me its clouds
And the rain didn't burn my bare shoulders anymore,
His serenity and my loneliness no longer walked hand in hand along the seashore,
And the rainbow quit knitting its nodes over the world.

Then he left and the candles extinguished,
He left and my worlds stumbled
Leaving only pieces of yellow stones in his coffee mug,
He vanished like the night at dawn, stealing all my faith.

Rivers of tears overflowed, inundating my skin
And the daughters of hope got lost in the forests, amidst the shadows,
The eternal dreams left, those who were so loyal to me
And only his honey flavour remained on my tongue.

Then his love ran away through the broken windows of my bedroom,
My soul quit flying in the skies, quit dreaming, quit breathing,
Then my gods lost their magic, their spell, their power,
With impetuous pride, they fell from paradise to submerge into the sea.

Then he left me in this manner, so fragile, so broken,
He left me so transparent and lost like a single tear,
Another shadow to capture,
Another moon to extinguish.
Another choked breath to suffocate.

Hi ed - I put the picture up since there wasn't one.
It's some figurines in a Spanish cupboard/display cabinet.
Since the text was in Spanish, I thought it kinda went well...
Maybe Silvia Martinez will translate it if you ask her nicely! ;0)
Jeff

Ed, I'll translate it this weekend, so check back tomorrow or on monday :-)

Like I said what do computers know...
Nothing fit to show.

25 Feb 2006 @ 18:24 by judih : babel fish gallantly swims in
ah, the babel
swimming into foreign waters
choking on bits of syllables
accents raising eyebrows
hoping to pull the barge of distant tongues
leading us to safe sandy shores

lucky for the babel
but luckier the ones who have Silvia a wand for words

staying tuned for more
*****************************
LOL! Yes, Babel tries but fries fish...
Silvia will wand the words.

25 Feb 2006 @ 18:43 by silviamar : Translation!
Monica, I've enjoyed the poem so much that have already translated it. As the last time, please feel free to change any sentence that you think that doesn't fit well. I hope that there are no english mistakes! :-)

Thank you, it's beautiful....Jeff

25 Feb 2006 @ 19:42 by swanny : ah ha....
Tis not as babel would have us believe thus
Shame on you babel to twist the broken heart song

Ah yes the pain and bitter/sweet joy of parting and broken
hearts and saying goodbye....

"Parting is such sweet sorrow"
Shakesphere 15th century

You have done an admirable job of capturing the pains
of love... Monica

or so Silivas rendition doth bespeak so...

thankyou you both then...

broken hearts shared doth fashion and wax an abode of
comfort of sorts at times...
