PLEASE HELP AND ADVISE!

I am dealing with youths who have a developed a passion for Graffiti artwork and need to offer useful advise to those concerned!
Basically, the conundrum is;

Does one encourage and try to harness the creativety for those who have a passion for Graffiti by allowing them to express their work on paper and or by way of painting on 'legal' walls, with the hope that 'that is where it will end!'

or

Does one actively discourage its practice in any shape or form thereby not showing any tolerance for it in light of its serious anti-social ramifications?

My deepest appreciation for any contributions or opinions on this one.

Well, just when we thought we maybe we've all had enough what with wars in the middle east and tsunamis in the south east, then what should come along, only global dimming that's all!

Well, for those of you fortunate enough to have ever come across a british science TV program called Horizon, you will know how well respected and researched this program is. It has brought forward many new and important scientific discoveries and news.

Well, tonight, the latest revelations have involved the discovery of Global dimming. In other words this is the dual effect of:
1) Heavy particulates and a variety of air pollutant chemicals which have been revealed as directly reducing the amount of sunlight reaching the Earth's surface by up to 20% in some area, by a 'screening' effect,
2) Clouds tend to clump these particles which have an effect of causing larger droplets of rainwater to build up the top surfaces causing increased reflection of sunlight back into space.

Both effects have been seen to have been the cause of reduced rainfall in certain areas of the tropics, increasing the incidence of drought in these areas (due to generalised climatic effects).

Nonetheless, and ironically, these limits to the sun's radiation have been realised, since the work done by scientists studying the reduced/ removal of air traffic over the USA from 11th - 13th Septmeber 2001.
They found that due the reduction of the air pollution tracks given off by aircraft, the land/air temperature increased by an unprecedented 1.2deg.celcius (not seen in 30years!) over the space of these 2/3 days.

This has now been linked to the effect of the already existing greenhouse gases being 'used' to trap this increases sunlight energy, thereby highlighting the fact that in REALITY the effect of the greenhouse gases will be magnified when the heavy pollutants are removed (unless of course we wish to choke ourselves to death!)

Hence, the undeniable truth that if we do not tackle these greenhouse gases pronto, the effects will be catastrophic, in the long term (2-5oC) in the next 25 years, causing 6-9metre increase in sea levels.
Despite the methane hydrates stored in the sea which if released as a consequence of these temp. increase will cause an unprecedented (in the last 100 million years, approx) increase in Earths temp.

What to do.
CAMPAIGN, CAMPAIGN against the governments releasing such ridiculous quantities of green house gases, before it is TOO LATE.
Get out and DO SOMETHING, whatever it is.
YOUR action COUNTS.

This is a brief account of events over the past few years!

Following my wife's problems with Psoriasis, we decided to move to Mallorca (spanish Balaeric Island) in April 2002.
Jacked in the job and took youngest 3 with us.
Found a town house in a village in a mountainous village valley called Esporles.
Shipped everything out, were left to sort evrything out for 4 months before I was to begin work.
Started job, found most the children delightful but parents and other teachers were another matter!
After discovering after some time that if you are different or upset the apple cart in any way whatsoever, you are ostracised in ever so subtle ways by the cliche two faced majority! This frankly got on my nerves, because as my children were no angels they, being students at the same small private school that I was teaching were not fairly treated. (Island mentality!?)

I got fed up with the sense of isolation and that you have to know the language well enough in order to really make progress, which I hadn't succeedeed in doing.
Well, just as we broke for the summer holidays, we had word of real problems back at our house in London, I wont go into details, but the cost was going to come to about $25,000, which as the wages in Mallorca are about 35% of what they are in London we were forced to return and deal with the problems ourselves.

We came back to London, where I got a job straight away (teaching at Tony Blair's son's school) then got another perm job 2 weeks later, where I am still working.
I am really happy at my new school and love many of the people that I work with. The children are from deprived arrears and we have 60 % ethnic minorities, which is not uncommon for certain suburbs in London.

Family is a different story, wife (yvonne) is incredibly removed from my way of thinking and I realised fully that I was living a superficial yet functional existance, with thankless and selfish step children (15 & 20, the 17 yr old is still in Mallorca, but returning next week!).
My own blood son, Tim, who's 11, was being put down alot by the others and tended to divert his attention by immersing himself in computer games to be amused.
Since separating 1 month ago, his behaviour, attitude and state of mind have improved significantly, due mainly to the fact that there is little if no fighting, cursing and he is getting a lot more attention.

He loves his new role, being the older cousin next door to his 4 younger cousins and he acts now as their minder!

Im writing this in Australia, where he is spending quality time with his 2 new found cousins (2 lads of the same age) and his having a ball.
I do hope that I am doing the right thing (I believe so) but as any of you will know, to split from a loved (albeit past love) one is not easy and the future I feel is, although precarious, bright and exciting.
Hope now to really make a difference to local community and green part politics as well as getting fitter.
Only time will tell!

Unless civilisation takes the view that we must use the next most economical and politically acceptable form of power, ie nuclear, then society will face the greatest challenge yet seen to the survival of not just themselves, but of the natural world as well!
The future, he states, cannot wait as the evidence is now worse than predicted with the current evidence of the rate of icecap melting!
