The key point for me is that peoople really are doing some positive things to make our world better. After what I had seen the last few days beforehand, I think I needed that assurance. This one was sortof a "stumbled-into" situation. I usually try to avoid discussing religion and politics with people I don't know well, and/or realize that there are intractible disagreements with.
