Hi All,

I read through the latest Whitley's Journal on the Unknown Country website. To say the least, I was a bit surprised. Whitley seems to come out somewhat in favor of intervention in Iraq.

Normally, W.S. tends to take a pacifist role, but he also tends to take a unique stance on issues.
Take a look at the article and let me know what you think.

Namaste,
-Craig

Well written and thought out article craig. And I don't completely disagree with his logic. But I would like to say that with the amount of money we are putting into the war we could shift our situation. Many fuel efficient sources have been developed and with intense research I believe our oil dependency could lessen quickly. I do agree the media has not educated the public properly concerning the energy problems. But one can find the info. It is out there and now with the internet I believe the word is spreading faster. thanks for the article.

Normally, I would be in the peace camp, but not this time. There isn't a better way than war, and the situation is much more serious than it appears--not because Saddam has the devastating weapons the administration fears, but because of what is happening in the world of oil.

It graves me to think that thinking like this is what got us in this mess. We have other ways that they are preventing from becoming another energy use. It's all about money on all sides.

As expected, the W.S. article really stirred the pot. Please be aware that this is Whitley's view, not necessarily my own.

My own view:
I'm extremely torn by what I see going on. I have a deep revulsion to war, Yet I'm somewhat convinced by what I hear from friends who are more in the know than I am about the core Iraq-realted issues. Something rather drastic needs to be done. So I have a real internal conflict about this.

To me the critical thing is Bush's motivation. Why is he so eager to go to war? And what are the side activities in his administration, accompanying this war effort. That concerns me as much as the actual war vs peace issue itself.

In the longer term, it seems to me that this is about the survival of democracy, the survival of the earth's environment, the conscious evolution (See Barbara Marx-Hubbard), and the coming changes. In a way, as big as it is, the war vs peace issue can be thought of as a microcosm of that.

The billionaires of the world are the Hitlers, creating wars just so they can re-invent the nations into consumer cultures so they can get rich off the sale of trinkets, raping and destroying our Mother Earth in the process.

The Bush-Cheney-Kissinger-Rumsfeld-Poindexters have invaded countries around the world over the past five decades. They are the Hitlers. The Bush Family fortune is from business ventures with Hitler. Check your history.

CL Note: To me, this is probably the spookiest part of the whole Bush-Iraq scenario. Thank you Sharie.

wow. this guy has seen terror. his unknown country remains unknown. what is dangerous is letting someone make your decisions for you. Saddam controls by fear, so does the Bush administration. apparently Whitley likes it so much he's trying it on his readers. "Ordinarily I'm against war, but we need oil for our cars and anyway Saddam deserves it." i'm told we're allowed to say "shit" on this site. are we allowed to say "bullshit"?

CL Note: we get the general idea... :-)

This world ruled by U.S.A. runs off building up demons like Saddam and then knocking them down, oh where would we be without an enemy to sell weapons to? The facts are that the U.S.A. and other countries like England! Have created the beast of the Saddam Frankenstein monster and now they want to kill the fattened goose. This is all about controlling the planet and bringing in new laws to control the people. Say no to war and lets have a new way of doing things on Earth lets get shut of the Evil that manipulates us through Evil!
