19 Jan 2003 @ 23:17 by strydg : that's a big if... 20 Jan 2003 @ 07:45 by bushman : Cool, strydg But did you watch/read the story, that is just thier entry screen, did you close the popup window thinking it was an add? Since it seems you are basing your comment on the quote only and not the story, did you even enter the site I posted? It took me 3 days to see/read the story, its all made in flash movie style. 20 Jan 2003 @ 23:33 by strydg : no. you're right. i didn't enter the site and should not have commented. but i couldn't get past the first window. too much woo-woo. so you spent three days staring at this preview of one of 22 chapters? who was tending your garden? 21 Jan 2003 @ 07:23 by bushman : LOL No, accually I found the site, when they where at chapter 18, so I had to see the rest of the story, to understand the preview, thats what took 3 days, on my 26.4 dialup, lol. And it was rainning so no gardening. The story of Noah's flood, is too much woo woo, too, but it's true. Ok, what you do is go to the site, then let the pop up load, then click on "skip intro" A new page will load in that pop up, once it's loaded click on story, then you can start at chapter 1. You can also see the trailer from the intro on this page, This story is done in 100% flash animation, seems they put out a chapter every 2 months, and they planed to take 2 years to do the whole 24 chapter story. Some chapters have acts as well, so far the total disk space of the first 21 chapters is about 120 mgs, and you can save them as winzip files. I put all the chapters on a cd so I don't have to wait between acts and chapters. I think the woo woo in this story could be true, lol. :} 21 Jan 2003 @ 13:29 by neolux : i played with the slide game thingee it was fun 22 Jan 2003 @ 17:06 by bushman : Hey strydg. This popped up in the woo woo zone, so if you get a chance give it a read. :} [link] 22 Jan 2003 @ 23:14 by strydg : i read the whole thing this time. not because it was good, but because i felt guilty.// it's a good example of how we can use words, whole books, historical events, etc, to create the image we want to create. like dick said. i'm assuming that you're referring me to this article in support of the quote from kenneth(?) dick, or something on that site.// i want to say that i don't believe in a "vast, right-wing conspiracy" but just this morning i heard a "discussion" that included a "right-to-lifer" and a women's rights advocate. (my bias may be evident in my sentence structure.) ok. there's a conspiracy. but we all twist the language to suit our needs. over time it looks like the floor of a barn: good fertilizer.// i think that you and i don't disagree all that much - except concerning what to do with "flash animation".// the story of noah's flood is really true??? 28 Aug 2006 @ 19:28 by Hanae @69.33.46.10 : DVD release Altogether, it comes to 12 hours of viewing or so - which could be quite a bit of a stretch and a strain too, as the whole series’ slow paced, slowly distilled chapters and static visuals were intended as a web experience and were not originally meant to be viewed back to back in such a fashion. It's nice though that collectors can own the whole thing on discs. There is now an abundance of reviews on the series. I like Zabel's take on it, here, on The Webcomics Examiner. I like Philip K. Dick but my favorite quote from the series is the one by Khalil Gibran: "Seek not the depths of your knowledge with staff or sounding lines. For self is a sea boundless and measureless and the soul walks upon all path." "Sand and Foam" (link) contains a line that would have made a most fitting description of the series: "Half of what I say is meaningless, but I say it so that the other half may reach you".
