It has to be the work of a gall wasp. [link] Albert Kinsey's first claim to fame was collecting and identifying different galls he collected. [link] Using the same methods, he collected us and our sexual behaviors. He decided there were a myriad of similarities. I've got 4 shingle oaks on our land, and I love them like brothers...but this year some damned oak gall has hit them. I've talked with everybody, and it seems there's very little I can do. They leafed out OK though, despite the galls which, in this case, form on the twigs before leafing. 26 Jul 2005 @ 07:18 by bushman : Well It deffinetly falls into the Marble Gall catagory for sure, but, I didnt see any disected ones on those links , jazz, lol. But I have to say, those are from space too, lol. I like that Robin's pincushion one. Anyway we will get to the heart of the matter soon enough. Just lucky none of our team has woke up in the morning with one of these things attached to thier necks. :} 26 Jul 2005 @ 09:02 by ankh : that is really pretty what a photo, Bushman.
