Vision

Go as far as you can see and you will see further

On a number of occasions, the authors of the US constitution expressed grave concern over the potential for economic interests to gain political control. Today it is apparent that they were men of exceptional vision. Since that time, cultural evolution has kept pace with the more obvious evolution from horse & buggy to the Internet, but our attention has been distracted from the advances in social engineering.

It is common for organizations to formulate a mission statement that clarifies their vision (the objective of the organization). This vision is meant to be the guiding principle by which the members of the group interact. As individuals, we seldom give adequate consideration to the utility of having a vision of our own. We often go no further than to consider the ways our most obvious drives may be satisfied by the smorgasbord of available options society offers. Unbeknownst to most of us, this is by design. How can one be totally devoted to the vision of another while remaining true to ones own personal vision?

The viable options, concerning vision, are bounded by the limiting assumptions inherent in the model of reality one embraces. Our view of reality is menu driven. The perspective of hindsight obscures the possibilities of the paths not taken as we proceed down the bifurcating path of lifes choices, resulting in the illusion that the world offered us fewer options than are, in fact, available.

The scientific advances of the last century have broadened our consensual perspective of reality in a way that corroborates the descriptions offered by mystics throughout the ages; enabling us to see a world of energy patterns, rather than discrete objects. This vision has profound implications as a unifying principle where diversity is recognized as an empowering dynamic.

The correlation between form and function is apparent in the observation that consciousness is role-related (i.e. ones awareness is invariably focused on ones interactions). A vision that reflects a commitment to understand and cooperate with natural systems, results in a synergy that facilitates the evolution of both the consciousness and the potential role to be played.
Sharing a Little Story I Recently Heard

After his speech, he offered question time. One
little boy raised his hand, and the President asked him what
his name is.

"Billy," the lad replied.

"And what is your question, Billy?" asked the President.

I actually have three questions. First Is it true that the
exhaust of automobiles are going to kill everyone in the world
in less than 50 years? Second How is the 1.2 billion dollars
you are proposing in research funding so that America can lead
the world in developing clean, hydrogen-powered automobiles
going to be divided up? And third Why don t you allow
free-energy on the open public market?"

Just then the bell rang for recess. The president
informed the kids that they will continue after recess.

When they resumed the president said, "Okay where were we? Oh,
that's right, question time. Who has a question?"

A different little boy put his hand up; the president pointed him
out and asked him what his name is.

"Larry," replies the boy.

" And what is your question?" she asked.

"I have five questions. First Is it true that the
exhaust of automobiles are going to kill everyone in the world
in less than 50 years? Second How is the 1.2 billion dollars
you are proposing in research funding so that America can lead
the world in developing clean, hydrogen-powered automobiles
going to be divided up? And third Why don t you allow
free-energy on the open public market?" Fourth - Why did the
recess bell go off 20 minutes early? And fifth - What happened
to Billy?"
Holographic Universe

The following are some selected quotes from The book, Holographic Universe, by Michael Talbot. Personally I think this type of a shift to this type of paradigm will be key in enabling mankind to emerge to a higher role in the universe.

Considered together, Bohm and Pribram's theories provide a profound new way of looking at the world: Our brains mathematically construct objective reality by interpreting frequencies that are ultimately projections from another dimension, a deeper order of existence that is beyond both space and time: The brain is a hologram folded in a holographic universe.

For Pribram, this synthesis made him realize that the objective world does not exist, at least not in the way we am accustomed to believing. What is "out there" is a vast ocean of waves and frequencies, and reality looks concrete to us only because our brains are able to take this holographic blur and convert it into the sticks and stones and other familiar objects that make up our world. How is the brain (which itself is composed of frequencies of matter) able to take something as insubstantial as a blur of frequencies and make it seem solid to the touch? "The kind of mathematical process that Bekesy simulated with his vibrators is basic to how our brains construct our image of a world out there," Pribram states. In other words, the smoothness of a piece of fine china and the feel of beach sand beneath our feet are really just elaborate versions of the phantom limb syndrome.

According to Pribram this does not mean there aren't china cups and grains of beach sand out there. It simply means that a china cup has two very different aspects to its reality. When it is filtered through the lens of our brain it manifests as a cup. But if we could get rid of our lenses, we'd experience it as an interference pattern. Which one is real and which is illusion? "Both are real to me," says Pribram, "or, if you want to say, neither of them are real."

This state of affairs is not limited to china cups. We, too, have two very different aspects to our reality. We can view ourselves as physical bodies moving through space. Or we can view ourselves an a blur of interference patterns enfolded throughout the cosmic hologram. Bohm believes this second point of view might even be the more correct, for to think of ourselves as a holographic mind/brain looking at a holographic universe is again an abstraction, an attempt to separate two things that ultimately cannot be separated.

Do not be troubled if this is difficult to grasp. It is relatively easy to understand the idea of holism in something that is external to us, like an apple in a hologram. What makes it difficult is that in this case we an not looking at the hologram. We are part of the hologram.

The difficulty is also another indication of how radical a revision Bohm and Pribram are trying to make in our way of thinking. But it is not the only radical revision. Pribram's assertion that our brains construct objects pales beside another of Bohm's conclusions: that we even construct space and time. The implications of this view are just one of the subjects that will be examined as we explore the effect Bohm and Pribram's ideas have had on the work of other fields.
Sentience

Several years ago, projections based on then current computing industry growth rate indicated that computers would soon approach the eight terabyte (8 trillion byte) storage capacity of the human brain. There are now computers that possess this capacity but at that time, it got me to consider what attribute might enable mans creation to qualify as sentient. Having been raised Catholic, the concept of free will came to mind as the quality in which we were created in the image and likeness of our creator. So I started with a flow chart of free will, in attempt to understand the underlying algorithm. The backbone of that flow chart looked something like this:
[Diagram was aparently not formated in way that could be viewed as an embeded image.]

Next I had to develop a fractal pattern generating equation that would enable the unit cell of this flow chart to dynamically self propagate. The result was a model that, when initial values were assigned to the variables, exhibited the potential to develop the diversity of wills displayed in the general populace.

A colleague commented that computers would not be on par with man until they possessed the capacity to experience pleasure. Desire for pleasure is, after all, the engine that drives free will.

A response to this line of reasoning might be that computers will never rise to the stature of man because we are more than mechanisms, we are spiritual entities. I acknowledge the spiritual perspective to existence. The documentation of near death experiences, remote viewing etc. provide irrefutable evidence that the mind of an individual continues to function when the brain waves have flat-lined, however the brain, itself is none the less the organic computer whose soft ware provides the model of reality presented during our normal daily experience. That being the case, if man were to construct the appropriate architecture would a spiritual entity in the market for that sort of real estate take up residence?
More About Spectragons

When I was a small boy growing up in a very rural area, I spent most of my free time deep in the wilderness, eagerly absorbing all nature had to show me. One summer day I spied a huge hornet's nest in a tree. I had never seen one half it's size before. As I stood in awe, I noticed large black hornets with white tails entering and leaving the nest. At that moment I decided I would return to that spot in the fall after the cold weather had killed all the hornets.

When that cold fall day arrived I returned to the nest and watched patiently until I was convinced that the hornets were gone, at least for the season. I climbed the tree, carefully removed the nest from the branch and brought it home. I placed it on my bed and began peeling back the exterior to reveal what the combs that were stacked like a wedding cake (the nest was upside down so the largest comb was at the bottom and smallest on top). Each comb presented a hexagonal array as the familiar "honey comb pattern" but instead of honey, each cell had a black shiney convex luster to it, almost like a jewel. No sooner did I make this observation than I also noticed movement in each cell, synchronous rotation. First slow then accelerating until the entire array was moving in a hypnotic frenzy. At about that time I realized that I was watching the tails of the hornets that were waking from their hibernation as a result of being it the warm house.

This realization dawned just as the hornets began to leave the combs and exact their revenge on me for having intruded on their turf.

At this juncture you are probably wondering if there is a point to this story. The point is that this particular adventure revealed to me that each of those hornets in the combs, face-down, were totally synchronized with eachother even though they obviously had no physical contact with eachother. As their tails rotated, each one pointed exactly in the same direction at the same instant. Intuitively, I knew at the time that nature possesses a mysterious mechanism that unites all of it's diverse elements in one great pattern that goes largely unseen by most of us most of the time.

Sharing a Short Bit of Information

I've never been much of a political activist but it has always been my conviction that we each have a moral responsibility to keep a watchful eye on those who rely on the ignorance of the masses to secure their ill-gotten gains. With this in mind I pass along the following to you that I recently received from a colleague:

This must be a campaign issue in 2004. Keep it going.

SOCIAL SECURITY: (This is worth the read. It's short and to
the point.)

Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election
years. Our Senators and Congressmen do not pay into Social
Security. Many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan.
In more recent years, no congressperson has felt the need to change it. For all practical purposes their plan works like this:
When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until
they die, except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments. For example, former Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw
$7,800,000 - that's Seven Million, Eight Hundred Thousand), with their wives
drawing $275,000.00 during the last years of their lives. This is calculated on an average life span for each.
Their cost for this excellent plan is $00.00. These little perk they voted for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up the tab for this plan. The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Fund-our
tax dollars at work! From our own Social Security Plan, which you and I pay (or have paid) into-every payday until we retire (which amount is matched by
our employer) --we can expect to get an average $1,000 per month after retirement. Or, in other words, we would have to collect our average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years and one month to equal Senator Bill Bradley's benefits!
Social Security could be very good if only one small change
were made. And that change would be to jerk the Golden Fleece
Retirement Plan from Under the Senators and Congressmen. Put them into the Social Security plan with the rest of us and then watch how fast they would fix it.
If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will
be planted and maybe good changes will evolve. WE, each one of us...can make a difference. How many people can YOU send this to?
The Spectragon Theory

The primal desire that distinguishes man, among earthly creatures, is for an understanding of existence. The earliest approach to gain popularity was deductive reasoning or reductionism. This approach was based on the assumption that all things were composed of permutations and/or combinations of a finite set of fundamental elements. For example, Pythagoras belief that the material world was based on an elemental geometry of five-point symmetry that he termed the quintessential. Today we know that fractal recursion of fundamental relationships provide the underpinning of the manifested world.

Spectragon theory is based on the observation that three-dimensional space, by definition, has a geometry characterized by six-point symmetry. This theory demonstrates that this inherent property of six-point symmetry is a prerequisite for the functional integration of a temporal dimension.

The fundamental mechanical element required to allow this fourth dimension of Time, to manifest within spatial dimensions, is displacement. Displacement has two basic forms: linear and circular. Linear, for translation between loci, and circular, to allow a dynamic to exist within a fixed locus. In other words, the three spatial dimensions that constitute a domain for matter, are animated by temporality, which constitutes a domain for energy.

How is it that six-point symmetry is required to integrate linear and circular dynamics? There needs to be a link between linear and circular reckoning for the two to be functionally integrated. The radius of a circle serves as such a link. Using a chord the length of the radius to mark the arcs of a circle divides a circle into six equal sections (six-point symmetry). When four spheres of the same diameter are packed together the simplest Platonic solid, the tetrahedron is formed. In both illustrations, the forms are based on the equilateral triangle. The inherent symmetry of the equilateral triangle redirects a linear force vector into cyclic activity by oscillating each side in sequence. This happens because the direction of travel for energy from impact point (on a hypothetical equilateral triangle of dimensions resonant with the incident energy wave-length) will be determined by the grazing angle and the length of the moment arm presented by the side of the triangle, to initiate a cyclic cascade around the perimeter. Thus, the dynamic (temporal) component of our four-dimensional model of reality interacts with the static (spatial) components to bring it to life.

A classic example of this space-time interaction is found in the Suns radiant energy being transported to Earth as a wave (linear translation), which becomes distributed as a work-cycle as that energy is absorbed into the wave-guides inherent in the tetrahedral geometry of diverse atoms and molecules whose oscillations are phase-locked by their common energy source. This phenomenon of work-cycle synchronization among diverse collocated elements facilitates the synergy, driving evolution by favoring complexity over simplicity as an energetic strategy to oppose entropy.

Spectragons are the visual depiction of this functional relationship between matter and energy. In the Spectragon model, the six-point symmetry of the hexagonal grid is animated by the visible spectrum represented by the six physiologic hues. Each spectral component representing one of the six fundamental sectors of the circle as delineated by a chord equal to the radius. Therefore, each of these six sectors also corresponds to one of the six vectoral components of a wavelength, each of which connects one nodal point of a circle to the next.
