The Inner Game of Thinking
"There is always an inner game being played in your mind no matter what outer game you are playing. How aware you are of this game can make the difference between success and failure in the outer game."
---Tim Gallwey
The concept of the Inner Game was developed in the 70's by Timothy Gallwey as a way of helping people to improve their performance in various sports, e.g. tennis, golf and skiing, and also in music.
Among other things, Gallwey recommends:
* developping the art of relaxed concentration
* not trying too hard More >

"Forces that we cannot understand permeate our universe.
We see the shadows of those forces when they are projected upon a screen available to our senses, but understand them we do not. Understanding requires words. Some things cannot be reduced to words. There are things that can only be experienced wordlessly. This says our universe is magical. It says all arbitrary forms are transient and subject to magical changes. Science has led us to this interpretation as though it placed us on a track from which we cannot deviate."

THE MUSE
--- by Brom
There is something in the woods behind my house. It calls to me.
The woods are old and full of spirits. The branches of the trees twist and tangle together like arthritic fingers. I dislike going into the woods behind my house, especially near dark. But tonight I will go. I really do not have a choice.
I enter the woods and the shadows watch me. I go far. I do not leave breadcrumbs. I am not lost, but I am not sure where I am either. I really should have left breadcrumbs. More >

For instance, this would be the archive... section 1 of Francis' three section dealy. Technical stuff, quotes from Nietzsche, etc. It could be any of the three... this is just the way my intuition would set it up. More >
