A kiss doesn't mean a lie
A kiss doesn't mean hello
And a kiss doesn't mean goodbye

A kiss doesn't mean I love you
And it doesn't mean go away
A kiss doesn't mean I'm leaving
Nor am I begging you to stay

A kiss can mean so many things
And it can mean none of them at all
Some kisses seem to lift you up
While others seem to make you fall

Many people gear their whole life
On a kiss that they've received
But many of the meanings that they get
Aren't the ones they should believe

All these things of meaning have meanings of their own
But a kiss is just a kiss if you'll let it stand alone
