What's a Meetup Group?
A Meetup Group shares a cause or interest and meets regularly face-to-face. There are literally thousands of local Meetup Groups for thousands of interests.
portuguese speakers…
Political supporters…
Poker players…
Pekingese lovers…
Pregnant women…
Over one million people all over the world have joined local Meetup Groups. In the last two years, Meetup Groups have brought communities together, shaken up politics, given people a voice…and had a lot of fun. United we Meetup!
Meetup Groups usually get together at least once a month. These real-world, face-to-face gatherings are called 'Meetups.'

Meetups are usually informal, and are open to anyone who's curious—bring friends if you like. Most Meetups happen at public places like restaurants, cafés, or public parks, though sometimes they take place in private homes or offices.
In most cases, the Organizer will welcome members, and will often have a printed sign to help you find the Meetup Group. Generally, people take a few minutes to introduce themselves.

Some Meetups are based around activities—like knitting, foreign language practice, or getting dogs out to play. Others focus on organizing for a cause, whether getting a political candidate elected or planning the March for Women's Lives. At other Meetups, people swap information and stories—about a shared health condition, say, or life as a stay-at-home Mom.How to find a Meetup Group
It's easy to find a Meetup Group:
Search for the topic that interests you—say, Spanish Language, Elvis, or Environment. Or browse more than 4,000 suggestions.

Once you've found a local Meetup Group that interests you, it's easy to get involved. Just click 'Sign up now' on the group's "Welcome" screen.

You'll start to get email updates on upcoming Meetup events. You can also ask the Organizer a question before you go to a Meetup.

Don't be shy about signing up just to see what the group is like—it's not a big commitment, and you can unsubscribe at any time
