7 Oct 2003 @ 10:30 by scotty : ho ho ho
nice to see a good sense of humor !

7 Oct 2003 @ 10:31 by scotty : er...
.. should be - nice to see a sense of humor !

7 Oct 2003 @ 10:32 by scotty : er.. um !
I'd just like to say - HI Bruce !

7 Oct 2003 @ 11:02 by spiritseek : OH
sounds like another Hoffa case! Political assassination perhaps.

7 Oct 2003 @ 13:16 by Marnie Bowen @67.114.89.98 : Trivializing
or making a joke about the candidacy of a man who allegdly tuched and gropped women in a sexual manner without their consent is not funny. It's a men's world, so i guess we'll just overlook those allegations and have a good laugh about this. ha ha ha
Here is more clear evidence how the sense of violation women feel, the sense of being wronged is easily discounted and trivialized...they're makin' it all up cause they don't like Arny, it's all lies. Why didn't they complain until now...Davis put them up to it etc etc
Lalalalala I can't hear yah. Most people won't even talk about it. Or Dare to Inquire? So it doesn't matter...it didn't happen! Another sad example of how the dominant narrative or our paternalist society regarding sexual harass-ment manages to absolve men from responsibility. I am not amused, I am disgusted! Utterly disgusted.

7 Oct 2003 @ 16:10 by waalstraat : Marnie
I Aum-pa am a man and I totally agree with you, as I am sure many men do...by the way I was politely trying to say what are you meshuga Bruce?

7 Oct 2003 @ 16:26 by vibrani : Arnold
as far as I see it, the best gift Arnold can give back to California is for him to leave it...and just go away.

7 Oct 2003 @ 16:40 by martha : oh but nora
arnie so wants to give back to california (according to his tv ads) what he has gotten here. Do you think he means that he will give all his money to california?

7 Oct 2003 @ 17:22 by b : He has plenty to give
He is paying his way with his own money.

7 Oct 2003 @ 20:32 by vibrani : Sure, Martha
can't you just see it? Arnold donates millions. Arnold removes our over-taxation. Bee - already calling him St. Arnold? If you think the GOP isn't backing Arnold and calling the shots, well, you know the saying about a bridge for sale...iI think Arnold might have bought CNN and Fox from the day he said he was in the race.

7 Oct 2003 @ 20:36 by Bruce Kodish @24.205.69.22 : Re Governor Schwartzenegger
Although she voted against the recall and, to say the least, does not feel happy about our new governor (according to the latest data from the exit polls)---my wife Susan does not consider me a meshuganneh (Yiddish for "crazy man").

7 Oct 2003 @ 20:42 by vibrani : That's good for you, Bruce
I hope for all of our sakes that Arnold won't screw us...like Reagan did.

8 Oct 2003 @ 11:00 by martha : and don'tforget Nora
that Arnold also got a lot of FREE help from Oprah amd Jay. What a mind f__k!

8 Oct 2003 @ 11:11 by scotty : Martha !!!
I didn't even know that you knew such a word !

er.. Marnie - too bad you don't have a log or something in here so's that we could dialogue with you instead of simply being subjected to your outbursts !
Nobody applauds what's happened in CA - laughing sometimes heals ! Ya know !
As far as sexual harassement goes - why not go read my log to see what I think about that - and spiritseeker's log and repsychs log too - then come back and make a statement about our indifference !
And instead of just leaving your women for clark publicity why not join the site or at least leave an adress where we can get back to ya ?

Am I the only one who sometimes get's a bit miffed when someone walks in - takes a 'dump' - then walks out again !

8 Oct 2003 @ 11:53 by scotty : For Marnie Bowen - ho ho ho
c'mon Marnie - give your face muscles a wee treat - laugh a little !

"The Democrats are the party that says government will make you smarter, taller, richer, and remove the crabgrass on your lawn. The Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work and then they get elected and prove it."
P.J. O'Rourke

"Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard."

H. L. Mencken

and to top it off... "The advance planning and sense stimuli employed to capture a $10 million cigarette or soap market are nothing compared to the brainwashing and propaganda blitzes used to ensure control of the largest cash market in the world: the Executive Branch of the United States Government."
Phyllis Schlafly

9 Oct 2003 @ 09:53 by Marnie Bowen @67.114.89.98 : double standard
scotty - sorry my comments offend you - our talk on the article before this one had me think that we had an open dialogue - isn't it what the comments are for - I thought we were hitting it on - guess I was wrong. I don't think allegations of sexual harassment are a laughing matter. I just saw your comments on the Dawn's Night Owl Blog - and you were not laughing there - I applaud you for what you said – a person who lays one finger on another with sexual intent for the briefest instant, when such a gesture hasn’t been sought, has commited a crime-when a person molests another even if only with words of a sexual nature, then this person has aggressed someone and it’s a crime. It’s time to take a stand of zero tolerance–it’s time to show young people that they have the right to be respected and the responsibility to respect others–that women are not chattels! So where is your outrage now - I don't understand - why the double standard?

9 Oct 2003 @ 10:15 by scotty : sorry Marnie but
I don't see a double standard here !
Not going after Arnie as a person is for the same reason that I didn't (in my log) go after Clinton as a person - the above posting about Arnie isn't about sexual abuse !
As I said (above) NOBODY laughs about sexual abuse !
My log was about sexual abuse and peoples attitudes to it - this log didn't cover that at all (IMHO)
My comments about politics were meant to be funny (pity you couldn't have heard the 'intonation' of my words when I said give your face muscles a treat - it wasn't being nasty at all - problem with written word is people 'read into ' the dialogue stuff that isn't there or even miss out stuff that is there ! that's hard to overcome or rectify!) I'm not able to take much of American politics seriously !! (c'mon Marnie - Arnold for governor - Reagan and now Bush for President ! - if it wasn't so funny Id cry !)

another confusing thing is - the dialogue above is in fact 'before' our last dialogue in the article before this one .. yes it's confusing - one has to look at the date and the time beside the comment to keep abreast .. anyway - I do think we have an open dialogue and that we ARE hitting it off ! hey - maybe somewhere we can disaggree - that doesn't mean we're not getting on together !!!!
what's more - I'm not even sure that we do disagree !!!

10 Oct 2003 @ 08:53 by Marnie Bowen @209.179.53.109 : sorry scotty but
the above posting is about Arnold (IMHO) and to say I am looking at Arnold "as a person" - whatever that means - and sweep the sexual abuse part of "the person" down under the carpet and say the above posting is not about sexual harassment and look the other way, doesn't make any sense to me - maybe it does to you - but looking the other way is not what you were talking about when you said that it’s time to take a stand of zero tolerance.

C'mon scotty - Mike Tyson - Kobe Bryant - and now Arnold Schwarzenegger - and you think this is funny?

10 Oct 2003 @ 09:12 by scotty : Not even a wee bit Marnie !

yes you're right - I stopped myself - looked again at what you said - yes you are right !

hotdamn - even those of us who think that we have our eyes open need to have someone say hey ! open your eyes !
Why indeed AM I seperating the issuse ???
Abuse is abuse is abuse - it is a question of attitude - and one should expect even higher standards from our leaders and our hero's !
Thanks Marnie - thanks too for persisting !
