Dare To Inquire: There Go Those Damned Israelis Again--Trying To Defend Themselves |
Category: Articles 8 comments 19 May 2004 @ 20:44 by vibrani : yeahwhat chutzpah. The world would probably be better off without those Israelis, hunh? (I know you know I'm being completely sarcastic.) 19 May 2004 @ 20:59 by bkodish : And Wednesday's Vote... AP reports: "With the United States abstaining, the U.N. Security Council Wednesday demanded that Israel halt the demolition of Palestinian homes and condemned the killing of Palestinian civilians near a Gaza refugee camp. The decision by the United States, Israel's closest ally, to allow the adoption of a critical resolution reflected the Bush administration's displeasure at Israel's foray into Gaza. The final vote was 14-0 with one abstention. U.S. deputy ambassador James Cunningham immediately urged Israel to exercise restraint, saying its Gaza incursion in search of gunmen and weapons-smuggling tunnels have not helped "peace and security." Maybe some supporters of Israel's right to exist will want to abstain from voting in the next presidential election...consider that, Mr. Bush. 19 May 2004 @ 21:13 by vibrani : there is some discussion on this in Jazzolog's log. Bush has fluctuated too much with Israel's security. He has double-standards (Iraq). 20 May 2004 @ 01:44 by b : Triple interests - Afghanistan War is hell, it sure isn't peace. 20 May 2004 @ 09:42 by bkodish : Palestinian Authority's Arms Smuggling From IsraPundit: -Ambassador Dan Gillerman (Mission of Israel to the UN-- Israel's Permanent Representative to the UN told the Security Council on Wednesday: "The numbers distributed by the Palestinians are exaggerated and totally false. Seven Palestinians were killed, of which four to five were armed terrorists. I can only express my disappointment that some members of the international community have been misled by the Palestinian propaganda machine. Terrorists operate among civilians and tragedy can strike. Even during times of war, the death of innocent civilians is regrettable, but we cannot be deluded by false pretense and any ambiguity between the terrorists and those who fight this deplorable scourge. The Security Council has never dealt with the dangers to peace and security of smuggling arms through the tunnels of Rafah from Egypt. Rafah serves as the "Arms Smuggling Gateway" of the PA. These tunnels of terror provide the conduit for hundreds of kilograms of explosives, hundreds of rifles (mainly AK-47 Kalashnikovs), tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition, and dozens of RPG rockets and launchers." 20 May 2004 @ 09:50 by bkodish : PA's Contempt for Palestinian Civilians Debka Reports: "Further investigation of Wednesdays televised Palestinian demonstration scales down number of deaths to 7, of whom 5 armed men. The Palestinian Authority selected procession route sowed with mines the night before by terrorists ahead of Israeli troops. Israeli tank fired warning shots to halt demonstrators advancing on Israeli positions. Exact cause of explosion still under Israeli investigation." 30 May 2004 @ 00:52 by Jimm @209.179.198.149 : this blog is an embarrassment I can't believe this blog is related to general semantics. The errors and blind ideology is legion. Wow. Perhaps I will invite Robert Anton Wilson to stop by... 2 Jun 2004 @ 12:24 by Bruce @24.205.69.22 : Name-Calling Given what you have written elsewhere, It doesn't surprise me that you find this blog "an embarrassment." As for 'errors and blind ideology' you can label what you wish. Those names have a good 'snarl' effect but as detached verbalism don't bother me one bit when hurled by you and have no sticking effect on me. If you are shocked by some of the things I say here, remember there is no 'shock' in a vacuum. You have (as we all do) assumptions that you favor and perhaps have not examined or do not wish to examine. If those get disturbed you could defend your favored positions and hurl words at me or you might examine your own assumptions and check out some of the data sources I offer. It's up to you. As for Bob Wilson...a friendly aquaintance of mine ...based on conversations I've had with him I would guess that he might agree with you or more likely that he would not have the slightest interest in what I have to say here.
