Apparently--according to the nasty, know-it-all Christopher Hitchens (who has not the slightest difficulty reporting rumors as facts)-- Ronald Reagan had nothing to do with the demise of the Soviet Union and Communist Block of nations.

Here are some other views.

Natan Sharansky, who sat in a Soviet gulag writes on how Reagan boosted the morale of anti-Communists and provided material support through the doctrine of Linkage.

Roland Flamini details how Reagan worked with Pope John Paul II to support Solidarinosc.

More on how Reagan led his administration in a concerted campaign against the Soviet Empire--Ronald Reagan's Secret Anti-Soviet War

Sorry, Mr. Hitchens. Ronald Reagan was not a 'lucky dunce' who happened to be in office when the Berlin Wall came down. Reagan took a major part in bringing it down.
