Dare To Inquire: Karol Wojtyla-Pope John Paul II

The world seems to me a far better place because Karol Wojtyla lived in it.

I didn't agree with some of his specific views, but I admired his integrity and sincerity.

It was not surprising to me that a Polish pope would have such a scrupulous regard for the freedom and dignity of the individual. He had a great deal to do with speeding up the fall of Communism in Eastern Europe. Bravo!

He loved and respected Jewish people as Jews and made major advances in Catholic-Jewish relations.

Zichrono l'vracha,
Remember his name for a blessing.

I suggest you read Astrid's log, which offers a horrific history of the church and it's future with the Jews and Israel, and Karol Wojtyla is part of this plot.

7 Apr 2005 @ 19:03 by bkodish : I do know about the
horrific history of the Catholic Church, particularly in relation to the Jewish people.

Nevertheless, I stand by what I wrote about Karol Wojtywa, probably one of the most decent men in the history of Popedom. (is that a word?)

By the way, I've read what you wrote about the Pope's death, etc. Sad For The Pope?, consider it a splendid piece of writing
and substantially agree with it.

And I still stand by what I wrote above.

...despite the raging aids plague, still insisting on not using preservatives?
You're kidding, I hope.

He pushed the first dominoe when he stood by Lech Walesa and his Solidarity movement. Bravo Poppy!
