Today marks the 40th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem under the sovreignty of the democratic, Jewish state.

As Andrew Jaffe writes: "Under Israeli control, Muslims are allowed free access to the Temple Mount. Under Arab control, Jews were not afforded the same courtesy."
