HELIOS: TRANSMUTATION

Golden, I am golden, a fiery sun burning with a never ending fire.
Red hot centre combusting, radiating outward, wave after wave fueled by a magnificient wind, whirling, blowing life into the feeding flames. I am alight, radiant, glorious.

Raging heat, the nucleus of creation, throw me down into your molten heart, transform me in your crucible. Forged in the white heat, to arise a phoenix from your flame. Base to precious, lead to gold, transmutation. . .alchemy

less grass to mow too.

Around here I feel a raised bed is necessary cause my neighbors spray their yards with pesticides and I don't like the idea of run off going into the veggies.

19 Apr 2009 @ 19:07 by susannahbe : Thanks Mortimer...
It amazes me that people use all those sprays and pesticides and don't realise it is going into their food and polluting the water table too - crazy!

Do you grow stuff?

20 Apr 2009 @ 00:00 by mortimer : tomatoes and bamboo
eat a lot of sandwiches and the store bought tomatoes dont have much flavor. Planted bamboo, less grass to mow. ;)

20 Apr 2009 @ 08:55 by susannahbe : Home grown
...Home grown tomatos taste so much better! We grew loads the other year and they ripened all at once so we made soup and pasta sauce - delicious!

We've got two big pots of bamboo that I am thinking of putting in the ground but I am not sure if it spreads really quick, I need to take that into account!

Good to speak to you :-)

20 Apr 2009 @ 16:46 by jmarc : careful with the bamboo
its considered a pest hereabouts. It spreads quickly. Supposed to be that if you want to be rid of it, you have to wait til it flowers and then dig way down to get all of the roots. But I guess if you like it then that would be ok for it to spread.
Do you plan on using the bamboo to make flutes or anything Mortimer?

20 Apr 2009 @ 18:43 by mortimer : invasive bamboo
There are 14 types of bamboo which are indigenous here in Florida. Some are clumpers which grow in a tight circle and some are runners which can spread underground. I only grow clumpers and yes, for flutes. Thinking about using some bamboo spikes for making a raised garden.

My didigeridoo is made out of bamboo. Technically its not a didgeridoo. Maybe i should cal it a didgeribamboo, cause I don't want to offend any peoples.

20 Apr 2009 @ 21:18 by susannahbe : I had suspected...
that about bamboo, and as I don't know whether mine is clump forming or the one with runners, I don't think I will risk it! Just need to split them and repot to give them more room to grow.

Thanks for the info guys! :-)
