It is perhaps possible to find some samples in nature I suspect but the bronze age signaled a period around the agricultural revolution I think it was hmmmm can't quite recall at the moment Its invention and use sprang simutaneously although independantly around the globe probably 3000 to 5000 years ago. It is used quite a bit in sculpture. Probably the most profiecient users and makers seem to have been the Chinese.
