quote "do you feel logic is inherent in the human world, as something we "came up" with or are just inclined to use, or is it inherent in the world regardless of whether humans are there to use it?? "

2+2 = 4
Well thats wonderful.
Now show me the number 2 in nature.
Sure you can show me two apples. Congratulations, but that isn't the number 2.

Neural Firings + Receptor Sites Recieving = brain state
Neural Firing = Biochemical process
Biochemical process = chemical bonding
chemical bonding = atoms doing what atoms do
Atoms = protons, neutrons, electrons
Protons, neutrons, and especially electrons = well the shit just hits the fan here and you run into Quantum Weirdness.
Some argue that at the most fundamental of levels, logic and mathematics no longer apply. Quantum weirdness takes over so logic/math does not actually reflect the universe. But of course, probabilities tend to cancel each other out on the macroscopic scale...leading to acceptable mathematical outcomes probably. Some argue we just don't really understand how logical quantum weirdness is. But if the most fundamental level lacks logic, can the higher levels truly possess logic?

If "stuff" is fundmentally nothing but at higher levels something, is it something or nothing? To be or not to be...is that the question?

Same question- if the universe is fundamentally illogical but at higher levels logical, is it logical or not? To be logical or to be weird...that is the question.

Ah so maybe that way out of logic or weird
is "clocked logic"

Maybe the way out of logic vs weird is
"clocked or dynamic logic"

hmmmm
seems to then diverge into an asynchronous
vs synchronous problem then

simple = static order
complex = dynamic order or motion
chaos = dynamic disorder or motion

thus synchronous = complex
and asynchronous = chaos

what about a system that is both though
sometimes asychronous and sometimes sychronous

hmmmmmm

Evening

Well offhand I would say in the real world
its a combo of asychronous and sychronous
realites trying to get along.
Now whether there's some excelling
configuration or pattern of these that
works best for the majority would be a most
difficult question or problem to ask or arrive
at ie: 50/50 or 40/60 or 60/40 or 70/30 etc etc

I suppose it would depend on what was what.
at any given ????

well this is a little beyond me

well apparently "noetic logic" was or is the classical view
of the situation.

In modern terms it doesn't exist or is an "impossibility" or something.

From the web...
""""""
Reason is instrumental reason. There is no such thing as a noetic rationality of man.

""""""

That is a rather bold assertion though.
While there may not be a "consistent" prooveable or immediate "noetic rationality" it does appear and reoccur throughout time.

There are examples afterall where the reason is not always
evident at the time of an event but becomes apparent after the long passage of time.

While some might claim thus and then it to be "instrumental reason" what was it at the time of doing or actuality but "noetic rationality" that finalized only after a long passage of time into instrumental reason.

There are numerous instances afterall of people acting on "gut instinct" and not having a "logical reason" for their action which is only thus seen or emerges after and in long hindsight or study.

I think the sticking point for the die hards is that noetic logic is somewhat less "controllable" than "instrumental reason" and hence thus less desireable as a component or useful component of activity and action.

30 Jan 2007 @ 06:02 by swanny : Control Issues
And that is the crux thus I suspect...

as in

As soon as you can "CONTROL" it...
It is not or not really "Noetic" or is it ?

????
