Dead Faith

James in the New Testament alluded to a faith being dead if it has no works
but Luther said we are saved by Faith alone and not works
and yet perhaps it is not work itself that is the operative word perhaps
but "right works".
So a dead faith may have works but not the right ones
or faith itself with out right works is somewhat moot.

R. T. Kendall has an incisive observation about the James 2 passage that makes a very relevant conclusion. He writes:

What startles me is the number of people who insist that one must have works to show he is saved but who themselves have virtually nothing of the very works James has in mind! They wish to use James as a basis of “assurance by works” but not the kind of works James has in mind—caring for the poor. I have yet to meet the first person who holds (or preaches) that giving another “those things which are needful to their body” must follow faith to show that it is saving faith indeed. We prefer to be selective in our use of James.[1]

We who hold firmly to the truth that faith alone brings justification without works of any sort must not be guilty of Kendall’s criticism. Let us lead the way in good works flowing from love and the power of the Spirit. Let us energize our faith to its fullest.

So in summary could this mean that Faith without works
is just as dead as a Faith with works but without "good or right" works?
Hmmmmm
Do right works cancel out thus wrong works or should it to be valid
mean that the majority have to be right or good works to constitute
A true faith. We just have to look at Christ thus as the example.
The majority of his works or all were good, just and right works
and a righteous death as well and the Fruit or Legacy of Christ is the Church.
The Church that is supposed Be the house of the Lord and the Lords ways, faith and good and right works and example. And his disciples or followers of his way and faith.
but in my understanding of other Faiths, faith or true faith is or does not belong to christ alone
but faith or true faith in the global sense always embodies faith and in right and good works. So Faith as a definition or true faith is...

well... you get the drift aye?

"saved by Grace." Now shall we take those two words and examine the origninal Hebrew? Greek? Aramaic? You can't work for salvation, you can't buy it...it is by Grace alone that you are saved. Saved? Yeah, put in the bank for a rainy day.

I see it as being transformed or reborn not necessarily "saved". In the saved sense I see it as your good works or faith or name or grace is held in good stead in living memory. Is living memory heaven then...?
well perhaps but it is not transcient stead or fame but solid truthful stead not popularity but "effect".
