SUMMON THE NATIONS

Let us summon the nations,
Let us call them today,
Well the flame is now burning,
For the Start of the Games.

chorus

Over the ocean, over the seas,
comes the torch of Olympus,
To the lands of the free

So summon the poeple,
Across the Land,
To the place in the West,
Where the torch it will stand.

Chorus

Over the mountains, over the hills
The spirit and honor,
Slowly does spill

So summon the champions
Call all the teams,
to compete for the privilege
of their Nations Esteem

Bridge

Let the games begin
for surely all will win
Let the games decide
On who the me-dals will ride

End

So summon the Nations
So summon the Nations
fade

. . . some nice harmonies on this one.

I have been playing around with a loop based music programme and the video function on my camera, to make a background video for one of my poems. I am nearly done now, I think it will be a new favourite thing to play around with! :-)

I still remember being inspired by the video you made of your kettle boiling!

Hope you are having a good day and thanks for that link you left about 'seeing the good' I really enjoyed it.

stuck in my mind as it was a simple idea but really effective.

1 Nov 2009 @ 01:12 by swanny @70.65.108.112 : Olympism

This is the definition of "olympism" as found in the Olympic Charter
This then is the impetus which we seemed to have strayed a bit from
So back to basics then.

From the Olympic Charter July 2007

"1. Olympism is a philosophy of life, exalting and combining in a balanced whole the qualities of body, will and mind. Blending sport with culture and education, Olympism seeks to create a way of life based on the joy of effort, the educational value of good example and respect for universal fundamental ethical principles.

2. The goal of Olympism is to place sport at the service of the harmonious development of man, with a view to promoting a peaceful society concerned with the preservation of human dignity."

Now that strikes me as somewhat noble though difficult to achieve
