On reassessment while Human population does seems to be a direct or indirect factor in the equation ie for every 1 billion people the global temp past a certain mean year goes up roughly 0.04 degrees Celcius. the major contributor for the remaining amount of heating is driven up 0.06 degrees C for every 100 million cars.

Switching to electric cars and hybrids doesn't do much to solve the CO2 problem, it simply offloads it elsewhere , like to the coal, nuclear and hydro electrical generation plants and thus makes drivers feel good with an out of sight out of mind warm fuzzy feeling. Hence the need for more power lines. Public Transit, walking and riding bicycles does solve the problem. see "critical mass"

Well according to my own data and thus my opinion.
Global mean temperature has gone up about 0.6 ^ C since 1940 and most of it in about the last 10 or less years and what Im hearing in the media and news and weather reports and personal "observations" seems to confirm this so, I'm sticking to that plan. I think its naive to think the warming is driven though by only one factor, there are numerous factors like solar, CO2 greenhouse gases, biocapacity breech, cars, power generation, meat production, stock market activity, and abode warming and apparently in the USA the major source of energy use is "cooling or air conditioning" so considering all of those things are going to continue to be driven up by an increasing populations temperatures can only continue to rise or global metabolic activity can only continue to increase but it can't because biocapacity is now at the point where we are using 1.3 more planet than we have so.
