"Do it for ourselves, the future and the Earth because it is the right and just thing to do, to help us to keep and preserve the goodness and wholeness, we humanity, all cherish, know, love and endear, now, for the future and perhaps always." ... absolutely !!! What You can Do Right Now .. [link] Here's another site with lots of interesting and often conflicting points of view .. The developed nations point on the matter that there be some oversight or regulating body to ensure compliance and proper use of the funds in accordance to the conditions is to be expected and perhaps prudent and mandatory as well, to ensure that the developing nations do not further exacerbate the climate change situation. 17 Dec 2009 @ 18:49 by swanny @70.65.9.110 : Climate Body Hmmmm Strikes me then that what is needed more than a global climate deal is some kind of new Global Climate Change Regulating body to ensure that any made and ongoing deals and conditions on climate and climate change are adhered to. No point after all of having deals and conditions if there is no way to ensure they are being met. Perhaps a role in this then for the new G20 governing body. What will happen after all it would seem is a deal will or may come out of this and everyone will go home and nothing will continue to be done. So may a deal then but form a Global Climate Regulating Body as well. 17 Dec 2009 @ 19:02 by scotty : climate body hmmm I don't really trust any of them lending money to developing nations is just a way of forcing them into dept and forcing conditions on them - like - they must buy from developed nations (IMHO of course ) I think that everyone has to have a rethink about the planet in general - remembering that it's our kids and grandkids who are going to be left with the shit .. I think that nothing good will come of any of it untill we all evolve .. hopefully we'll manage in time .. If not then good ol mother nature will become all nice and clean and fresh and green again without us thankyou very much LOL 17 Dec 2009 @ 19:15 by swanny @70.65.9.110 : Working with what we got Well sadly they are perhaps not worthy of trust true or even respect but we have to work with what we've got as unevolved as it may be Sure the world isn't perfect and probably never will be unless we change our human nature but I don't see that happening in the next 24 hours unless perhaps there's some divine intervention of some sort, so I guess hope and pray thus for the best as well as the above. 17 Dec 2009 @ 20:04 by scotty : yep that's it work with what we've got - not forgetting that we've got everything ;-) maybe just need to make other choices eh !
