31 Jan 2010 @ 13:18 by scotty : oh my goodness ! 7 Feb 2010 @ 00:42 by emmyaway : the hummer hola! recommend divorce your car by katie alvord. is it possible for people in the usa to carpool, slow down, not be so selfish? 17 Feb 2010 @ 00:18 by swanny @70.65.11.89 : The Green Debate Okay okay there is definitely a need for some standards here and certification, there are some but people don't bother to check, in building there is the LEED certified standard, in environment in general there are the ISO standards,,,, ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 I believe. Not sure about or even if there are any standards in energy production so perhaps an area for development. Whats happening is the aspect of marketing known as "greenwashing" where companies and such who have no knowledge of greeness just apply a label called green and walla..... Its amazing how many companies are doing this and haven't changed or studied anything just adjusted their advertising. Unless people want the Governments to set in an regulate they better do their homework as is always the case it seems unfortunately "Caveat emptor"....let the buyer beware. 18 Feb 2010 @ 14:58 by swanny @70.65.11.89 : UN Cllimate Chief Resigns Thank you UN Climate Change Chief for your efforts on the matter, it is a complex uncertain and pressing issue and well frankly a rather thankless task that you charged, but I for one will thank you for trying. Well I suppose it is a bit presumptuous to think we can or could "control" the climate with any degree of accuracy even if we needed to. The Facts and reports that according to the records we have just had the warmest winter on record here in 2010 in the West and the most snow and cold on record in the East just goes to suggest that its a little more complex than turning up or down the thermostat. I mean we don't even understand how a normal climate works let alone a changing one. So we're bit hooped it seems in terms of thinking theres much we can do about it. I mean Earth Hour is a good attempt but a bit feeble and carbon trading and taxes are well subject to market concerns and flaws and forces and frauds and we've got to consider whatever we may do may and could backfire. The concern for me thus is the crops and the water supply. We've just rehearsed the Haiti scenario and I'm thinking such is going to become a regular concern and event so I suppose we should beef up our Climate Change Corps and Troops. 19 Feb 2010 @ 12:48 by swanny @70.65.11.89 : Energy Means Some People in this energy debate, seem to continue to use the argument that the use of renewable energy sources can not meet our current energy "needs" but seem to miss the glaring point that maybe these so called needs of ours are unsustainable. We are after all it seems in fact living beyond our and the planets energy "means" thus and a lot of these so called "needs" are not needs at all but the wants of the life styles we've become accustomed to. To live beyond our energy means is perhaps though fun somewhat indicative of an irresponsible and over consumptive society along with the fact of having no or few "energy production standards" to ensure we live within our means and within the biocapacity and environmental restraints of the earth and its future. 19 Feb 2010 @ 13:17 by scotty : YEEEEEEESSSSS! it's all about want's not needs !! When we get back in touch with ourselves then automatically we'll get back in touch with the planet ... once we've done that it would be completely out of the question to continue as we are .. we'd be incapable of hurting something so dear as life .. in all it's forms ! 19 Feb 2010 @ 14:05 by swanny @70.65.11.89 : Yo Hi scotty well I need some breakfast thanks good points ed Other entries in Articles 22 Mar 2010 @ 02:39: Equal Day, Equal Night 13 Mar 2010 @ 23:30: Blessed Land 2 13 Mar 2010 @ 12:42: Blessed Land 7 Mar 2010 @ 00:58: Children of the Seasons 5 Mar 2010 @ 15:37: The Further Adventures of Joy 5 Mar 2010 @ 13:42: Time Passing 5 Mar 2010 @ 12:01: Joy Revisited 5 Mar 2010 @ 11:29: A Study: Bridges and G O D 26 Feb 2010 @ 01:31: Hey Canada 21 Feb 2010 @ 00:43: Olympic Flame Cauldron
