The Master Gardener put forth the Parable of the Dandy-Lion to his disciples.

1 The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a golf course. The greens are like a uniform carpet of green grass which is beautiful to behold. But a breeze brought with it something in the shape of bubbles and parachutes which turned out to be the seeds of the dandelion weed. The seeds sprouted and brought forth yellow flowers which detracted from the beauty of the course.

2 Then a drought came and there was a ban on watering. The gardener wasn't allowed to water the greens so they turned brown and died but behold, the dandelions flourished and distracted the attention of the visitors. The weeds were easy to spot, so the gardener went about squirting each one with a pre-measured solution so that they died also.

3 Later, the rains came and the course became green again but there wasn't a dandy-lion to be found.

4 Then the disciples came unto the Master and said, "Declare unto us the parable of the dandy-lion." He answered them saying, "The greens are the fields of the world and the grass are the children of the kingdom; but the dandelions are the children of the wicked one."

5 "The drought represents hard times." "During hard times, the wicked flourish but are easy to identify and thus dealt with accordingly." "To every thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven."

sounds like the weeding out told in the bible and the separating of the chafs from the wheat.

From the "tares and wheat" but set in the days 0f King Ahab.

"Some of the seeds of hope

Planted tentatively in the fall

Have not come up

They lie stillborn and unrealized

Somewhere in the spring soil

Decaying

The strongest and best ones

Pushed up through leaves

And layers of cold, hard resistance

Right into clear blue air

And stand there nakedly green

Breathing

It's always that way with growing things

Never knowing at the start

Which will make it and which will fail

But the thing to hold fast to

Never to lose faith in

Is simply

Sowing"
