A new perspective of specifics; from dust to dust.
From dust you came and unto (your) dust you shall return (the "dust" are the atomic electrons of the ovum and sperm from which your parents gave you when you were conceived) and that is where you shall return when you die.
After death, in that new state of being, those atoms/electrons may be consumed (as food) by any living organism in our present state of being. Once consumed, your atoms/electrons may gravitate toward the hosts reproductive organs irregardless of whether they are male or female. Then you would have the chance to become a new and different organism (in this present state of existence). Imagine being a human trapped in a dog or cat’s or cow’s body, or whatever. You could conceivably come back as an insect; the possibilities are endless depending upon what animal, organism, or person ate your remains for dinner! In other words, it is extremely likely that everyone will come back as something at some point in time! Knowing this, do you think it is possible for T-rex to reincarnate as a human?
Therefore, in this explanation of reincarnation, it is completely possible for a woman to come back as a man and vice versa. This better explains males trapped in female bodies and females trapped in males bodies.
I hope after reading and understanding this you will have more respect for all other life forms. It may also help to understand "Karma."

We have all lived many lives and have been both female and male. In fact we have both energies in us now. We also hold all the energies of humanity inside us. As to what we will come back as after we pass, is the million dollar queston.
