it's because for some odd reason, when humans get to a certine age, they think they must do things of conciquence, they must keep stock and count what they have or have done. Maybe they forgot when they were a child they did things out of curiosity and imagination within the now. To do things on purpose with a plan shows the world we are civalized and grown up, but at the cost of our true being. On second thought, just tell your dog it's because we have thumbs, and leave it at that. Wouldn't want to damage your friends innocents with the truth. Ah, read the book, "Little Prince" to your dog. :}
