By Fate's Decree

Whispered ardor in my dreams…
Fiery notes are played for me.
What depths shall I in the vortex fall?
Am I lost by fate's decree?
While your love, like errant sunbeams
Burst forth, enthrall.  More >

Meeting of Minds

There’s a meeting of minds ‘tween you and I,
Not defined by rules or wrought design.
Somehow it’s grown to exemplify,
The spirit joining of yours and mine  More >

Summer

Summer's hot gestures beckon me to cool resting waters
Brings my searing brow yearning for splashes
And giggles and sand in my shoes
For leapings and laughings
Rope swings and squealing twirls
Sunburnt boys and freckled girls
Frogs beware or they will soon ensnare
Your slimy wet greeness.
Oops!
Splash!
There he goes.

Nestle near the stones thrown up from the lost cellars of time  More >

Sun God’s Caress

The sun burns my holo-white skin
Needles of flowing, piercing distress
Spare me, oh Ra, from your ire
Stop the transfiguring heat from within
Hide me from the Sun God’s caress
From the eye’s searing temple of fire  More >

Softly Keep

I picked a sweet pink rose today,
And took it in without delay.
A rose like those we once grew,
Made me feel at once brand new,
Mother, your face touched my mind,
Your smile so winsome, your eyes so kind.
I will remember those days gone by,
How we’d laugh and how we’d cry.  More >

Our Feet in the Mist

Poised I see you there, a far flung star,
Out of reach, but burning hotly.
A solitary fire fed by my thoughts.
And you knowing the beacon sent.  More >

Half Remembered

In that secret place the water flows to the valley,
We gaze from the high mountain.
The breeze touches my face and I feel free,
To see the green of the valley with its grass and tree.
Turning, I smile at him and I wonder who he is.
How did he find me in my quietude?
He knows the secrets and he smiles.  More >

The Moonflower Bloom

Will I sleep in the dreamtime midst the moonflower bloom,
To wait for your face to come into my room?
Will you hasten to hold me until the bright dawn,
To rock me and love me till the evening is gone?  More >

Fly Again

Will we, with joy and pain of soul,
find a soft heart's repose?
Are the arrows of adversity and treachery always to seek us in our dark safe places?
Enticed forth we grasp a kindly hand,
which then turns to skeletal dripping horror before our eyes.
A horror of our own making, an inner vision of deception.  More >

At Eventide

It was eventide and I sat watching the sky
I could see the trees waving in the breeze
Three ducks flew over, going west
I was thinking, if I could do as I please
I would seek the when, where and why
Bringing my soul to life’s test  More >

Words that roll soft and cool
Down shaggy mountains
Into waiting soft caves  More >

The Waiting Sky

Whither hence does the wand'ring hearts seek freedom's gentle rest?
Does it not rest in the softly blowing breezes?
Surely the taste of sea air brings the slumbers of calm courage.  More >

Ticonderoga! (warning.. long poem! )2 comments
Friday, June 18th 2004
This is based on a true story.

Ticonderoga!

Summer lay still on Cruachan hill in 1755,
The Laird of Inverawe, the Campbell came,
Tae walk ‘mongst the fleur and green.
Sweetness in the air hung heavy about,
Nature sang to all the life untame.
Upon the hill was a fleeing figure seen,
Falling upon Inverawe with a ragged shout.
“Sanctuary Laird or I’ll not stay alive!”  More >

Illumination; that light within

Seeking in word and thought
Left me wanting the quick way

Blame it on the Moon2 comments
Sunday, June 13th 2004
In keeping with my recent theme of planetary wonders...I also have decided to alternate my older stuff with a new poem.. thus getting back into the flow again. I hope some will enjoy my meanderings.

Blame it on the Moon

Can I blame it on the moon?
It sits in it's net of stars and winks at me.
That sly grin mocks my restless mind, chases my shadow.  More >
