Just Because

When life’s weariness overcomes me

You are a gentle warmth

That softens the edges of my day

So much like an easy summer’s eve

Where night sounds bring gentle rest,

Your strong thoughtfulness fills the hours

Yet, as the seasons pass along the fleeting years,

They seem like droplets lost down a bubbling stream.

Our times together are too swiftly passed.

Nonetheless, we are never really parted my Dearest.

You are the laughter the fills my memories,

And without you I would be less than I am.
