Web of Light

I arrived early to my workplace this morning. The sun was filtering through the trees behind the building. We have a man-made stream and large trees in a big courtyard there. As I sat on a bench, I could see the spider webs flashing in the sunlight.

I gazed at the ones nearest me and wondered at their fine, yet powerful strength. They would disappear and reappear as the sun played upon them. A flash caught my eye in the distance about 50 feet away.

“What is that?” I wondered.

There in the bushes on the other side of the stream, was a thin bright line. It would bounce and disappear, then slice the distance again intensely. I wondered some more. I looked at the gossamer threads closer to me. I simply could not see them unless the light hit them perfectly. How on earth could I see them so far away?

Then I saw the light, so to speak. That was it. The light, that incredible energy that we see every day was the power of my being able to see that thread so small to be virtually invisible to the naked eye. I could not see without the light. It illuminated my understanding, enabling me to see farther than I could imagine.

The light is always there, in one form or another. It is there to help us see things we never dreamed possible.

yah. but remember this: you are the one projecting the light even though it appears to be coming from somewhere 'outside' of you. what a hologram you've created for yourself! the lens, the projection, the projector too and all accoutrements! amazing! beautiful little inspiring story skookum. thanks.

I didn't think to look up the meaning of spider.. will have to do that. Unlike many, I do not fear them.

maybe we should say.. all is light.. like Einstein said.

Yes Skookum,
This "I understanding You"
or "You understanding Me" Idea,
may be rephrased as,
There is a little corner of the Universe
that You and I share an understanding of,
and we recognize the words that each other uses
to describe this little corner of the Universe,
and can build upon each others thoughts
in complimentarity.
Wherever on Earth this Light is actually coming from,
it is ours to know and share.
Is it not like that with each of those people,
however few and far between they may be,
with whom you share some special little corner of the Universe?
