Now, What are the Odds?
Ok…I told you all about my bird Mango. I took a picture and I am waiting for my son to decide to upload them. He is off killing aliens or something at the moment. Well, back to another chapter in the odd goings on at my home.
We had put the new bird in his new cage and I asked my daughter to clean out the rat cage in case another bird had to be rescued. (she forgot to do this). Mango is doing great, his feathers are bright and smooth and he loves taking baths in a pint jar while you hold it. He is a real character.
The neighborhood kids come knocking on my door this afternoon. They inform me someone has found another bird and would I please get it as the woman has it in a box and cannot take care of it. She had rescued it from the cat.
I have Matt grab the extra cage which still has seed in it etc. We go toddling over to this young mother. She is delighted to see me and brings out this box. The wee bird is inside.
Guess what kind of bird it is….
Yes! It is a peach faced Lovebird. Normal coloration. It is a bit shopworn by the cat, but was eating and drinking pretty well after I put it in the cage. I have the rice heat pad on top of the cage and hopefully we can nurse the little thing back to full health. It also seems to be tame as well. I was just thinking today how nice it would be if Krystal had her own Lovebird. I better watch what I wish for!
Go figure eh? What do you think are the odds…?
We named it Papaya.

It would be wonderful to see a pic of both!
If they were male and female, you could have in the future a whole Lovebird family!
