as they are the yin and yang of Asian tradition...

The Phoenix and the Dragon

She descends from one gossamer cloud to the mountain
Her fiery breath making mist on the swaying flowers
Reborn in her heart each fleeing sunset
She searches for her complement; her mirrored being

He soars quickly, smoothly through dark foggy forests
His scales glimmer and flash in the beams of moonlight
Coming to life as the sun raises to the sky
He feels a sense of emptiness he seeks to be filled

She the Phoenix descends into that soft, quiet night
He the Dragon rises into the solar symphony of light
Never meeting, but always an unnamed yearning
So goes the eternal round, the never ending way

Perhaps, they may never meet in physical rapport
As he rises with the dawn and she flees until the night
They are one, they are joined, and they accept
The knowing surrender of a greater wisdom
