a poem
Earthbound
In silence the waves of stillness flow by
Weaving in and out of the dark and the light
Through the hills and valleys of my mind
In reflection to the soft morning breeze
I cease to exist as myself
No longer this clumsy being
My mind is no longer with my body
Awareness rises to the wandering clouds
Then swoops down on the wing of a bird
Suddenly, I am green and growing tall
Somehow, I am everywhere
Infinite and eternally sacred
In a blink I am plummeted to earth
Once again heavy, dross, ungraceful
I watch the clouds roll overhead
Birds rush about and the trees sway
I wish to hold them inside my mind
But, I am earthbound again
