I have been re-reading "Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind" by Suzuki and found this book very helpful with such questions. As Jazzo suggested, there is much to say about dualism and to transcend such dichotomies as good-bad, right-wrong, believing-doubting, and patterns of conditioning. I also appreciate that Suzuki goes into detail about thoughts, seeing, experiencing and "...how to live with outselves and others." He is really a trip to appreciate. Also, I have found that Tarthang Tulku speaks so clearly to me in most of his books, especially "Gesture of Balance" and "Openness Mind." These are real treasures for experienced and beginners with meditation and living a healthy life with an open, accepting and appreciating mind. I have been introducing these concepts with my grandkids as "mindfulness" and they are beginning to see their reactions and enjoy, even more, being in the moment. For example, this is a short video and part of series that Ariana and I made during her visit with us this summer. [link] 25 Nov 2007 @ 20:49 by vaxen : Marissa! The sun doesn't rise nor does it set.
