About World Maps and World Viewd in Times of the Decade for Sustainability Education and the UN Millennium Development Goals

NOT TO BE RELEASED BEFORE March 1st, 2005
at the opening of the Decade for Sustainability Education at UN Headquarters - lead agency UNESCO.

We have started our initiative at Didacta Stuttgart, March 2005 when realising at the DESD Germany opening event in Mainz and at the Didacta education fair that the maps we use are often not the best for their purpose.
When searching for maps for teachers training and school books we found many distorted maps, many maps which are not "fair" for the given pupose and gve wrong impressions about the world and planet Earth.
We have therefore created a flatmaps section. Please see:
