I will add here the link to the conference and project store and need to respond a.s.a.p. with my records and concerns about climate policy and the COP in Paris, but also concerning central issues around mitigation and adaptation, the scales, rules, values, scopes in decision making and implementation.
The meeting was very intense and deep, very good people not just from economy, social sciences, law, ... MORE LATER .... this is a 2 days exercise.

Klimarealpolitik statt globalem Abkommen – Forschungsverbund gibt Handlungsempfehlungen für internationale Klimaverhandlungen
Ein Forschungsverbund unter Leitung der Europa-Universität Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) präsentiert im Rahmen einer internationalen Konferenz am Donnerstag, dem 19. Februar, und Freitag, dem 20. Februar, Handlungsempfehlungen für den Weltklimagipfel in Paris. Interessierte sind herzlich eingeladen in die Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft, Anna-Louisa-Karsch-Straße 2, Berlin.
Die Konferenz zum Thema „Step by step: How to progress in international climate policy“ bildet den Abschluss des Forschungsprojektes RECAP15 (Re-thinking the Efficacy of International Climate Agreements Post COP15). Umwelt- und Klimaexperten von Universitäten, Forschungsinstituten, aus Medien und Politik diskutieren, wie Fortschritte bei den internationalen Klimaschutzverhandlungen erreicht werden können. Als einen Lösungsansatz präsentieren die Forscherinnen und Forscher von RECAP15 eine Klimarealpolitik, die Klimaschutzmaßnahmen auf regionaler Ebene vorsieht. Statt eines globalen Abkommens empfehlen sie eine bottom-up Strategie des globalen Klimaschutzes. Voraussetzung dafür sei ein klimapolitischer Rahmen, der den Erfolg der unilateralen Anstrengungen absichert und gleichermaßen Entwicklungsländer für den Klimaschutz gewinnt.
Die Europa-Universität Viadrina führt RECAP15 gemeinsam mit der Universität Regensburg, dem Helmholtz-Zentrum für Umweltforschung (UFZ) in Leipzig und dem Climate Service Center (CSC) in Hamburg durch. Ein interdisziplinäres Team von Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern entwickelt Empfehlungen für die Zukunft der internationalen Klimapolitik.
