Dear friends and Team Members,

I want to thank everyone for your contributions to our Las Cruces Health Promotion Team with Elders during the past year (April 1, 2006-April 1, 2007). We certified 65 team members and gave 2,445 stressouts in our 4 health centers and nursing homes during this past year. This is very impressive and I'm sure that we have contributed to the health and wellbeing of our participants and wider community.

These figures do not include the 90 caregivers who participated in our stressout program during the City-wide Conference. Also, the LC In-home Care Program includes the stressout as part of their daycare program with Alzheimers so their clients receive the stressout regularly. Our BSW students gave stressouts every Tuesday morning during this Sp 07 term, along with Christy with these participants.

It is great that our College of Health & Human Services -social work, nursing and health science students-- are all represented and working together in our touch program. Our elder team members, Ann and Elizabeth, are the pillars of our organization and they are to be commended for giving stressouts every week at Mesilla Park and East Side Centers. Our goal is to have at least 2 team members in each diabetic clinic.

During the next few months, Francesca and her staff will be introducing and teaching our program with nursing home staff and in the Fall Semester, we are hopeful that nursing and social work students and others will continue to join with us in our outreach activities.

Finally, as one of our students mentioned today during our stressout program at Good Samaritan..." I felt as though I was receiving much more energy in return for giving the stressout." Integrative Health Forum

Cher, thank you for maintaining our records and for supporting our teams. Aurora, you are a great strength. Nice going.....best wishes to you all as we start a new year and continue to advance safe, skillful and nourishing touch with our elders, families, friends and others. You are wonderful.

PS Please feel free to add anything you wish with this report as I love to hear about the many experiences our team members and participants have while giving touch. I have not included the skillful touch given by our global team members, but will add them as comments as they arrive.

any Plans in taking your Program to South America - or , I mean, do have ways to introduce it to Someone who would take it there? The reason why I am asking this is because your Program there would most likely be met with Open Arms and conquer that Continent much easier thanks to a not quite so Western-Mind-dominated Society --quite yet! The SYNERGY wouldn't have quite so much bureaucratic BS- resistance to penetrate, thus brake the barriers faster and build up a vortex of Loving energy there. In The Field I can see( clairvoyantly) a great great Transformation growing from this one "Little" Seed Of Love/Compassion!... I see the "Pic" and I feel the Energy, but it is very difficult for me to capture in regular Western words!...
But just know that the Seed you guys planted is strong enough now to never be destroyed! The Q now is how quickly will it conquer the Bad in Western World!

staying-in-touch with us on our global project, Astrid. I've had a few isolated instances where our program was used in South America and I receive numerous contacts on our website from numerous countries. However, I don't have any team leaders located here, but am eager to find some. Our protocol is translated into Spanish and most of our clients, givers and receivers of our service here in New Mexico are of Hispanic origins. Perhaps that is why we have such good receptivity here as the community is more open to touch.

I wish I knew how to conquer the "Bad in Western World," but if everyone reached out and touched someone, I think our World would be a better place to be and to live. One of our students mentioned in class today that after giving our stressout to one of the elders, he knew that he and his partner experienced empathy and this just doesn't happen in most encounters with others. I hope you are right that now that our seeds are planted and our program continues to flourish, it will continue to grow and thrive with our elders forever.

this is indeed so right on and so beautiful that it brings tears to my eyes! On the Home page on my web site I have this little drawing : two kids hugging and saying "All the Arms we need" and that is so true in so many ways! It all happens One Human Heart/Hands(when these two are in action; the third, the Head, kinda HAS to follow suite, eh : ) touching one human with our Heart at the time, one by one by one!.... But eventually there will be this Synergy that makes the Critical Mass of /for Compassion to just brake all the remaining barriers, I believe. Cool! Very cool! : )
