Beethoven's Hair

A lock of hair cut from Beethoven's corpse reveals the mystery of his tortured life and death. After Beethoven enthusiasts, Ira Brilliant and Che Guevara, purchase the hair at a Sotheby's auction the film traces its journey, from 19th century Vienna, through Nazi Germany, culminating in the forensic science that uncovers Beethoven's "medical secret" accounting for his many illnesses, his deafness and perhaps even the nature of his art.

I'm proud of my wildly creative brother, who never ceases to climb into the bizarrities of composers to film that which is fascinating for us to watch.

L'Chaim, Larry!
and happy 49th birthday, today, November 20, 2005
