one month past solstice
the hour's getting cold
as waves of winter prepare to cover our land

dylan sings, stay watchful
hendrix croons, stay passionate
friend speaks, stay in tune, alert

Bedbugs will bite, lions will prowl
agents will lurk, record, report
we of the non-aligned mind
must stand strong

tall, firm, yet bent like a willow
we continue to work
our seeds bearing fruit
our trees yielding shelter
our minds feeding hungry

a plantation growing everywhere
a small voice on a large highway
'goin my way?'
