"And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God." -- Luke 18: 19

Have you ever heard of the sun discriminating because of race, religion or creed? The sun doesn't think, "I'm not going to shine on you because you're not a good person." The sun shines on everyone regardless of belief. Like the sun, God is "no respecter of persons."  More >

"Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? [...]

"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." -- James 2: 19-20; 26

You can have all the intellectual knowledge about love but without being able to demonstrate love in action, it means nothing.

I've always been interested in the genre, "writing from experience." I had dreams of becoming a writer of that genre but somehow I wasn't always inspired; the ideas came in fits and starts. I also felt like I was trying to fit into a mould that simply wasn't me, which part of me was rebelling against. When I realised my identity as spirit, writers' block became a thing of the past. I realised inspiration was everywhere.  More >

 What is Learning?0 comments

I've heard it said that the earth is a school to learn many lessons. Well, I don't subscribe to that idea. As I see it, God is all there is. Why would God, the Omniscient One, need to learn any lessons? I believe, however, that I'm here for a different kind of learning: to explore all that God is being.

The above photo from Matthew Cromer's Gallery is called Canyon Dusk Silhouette, Shoshone Point, Grand Canyon NP. The tree in the foreground appears to be touching the sky and the canyon. This photograph represents the All There Is. There is no thought of separation, nor is there any need to know. All is one; all is known.  More >

"A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." -- James 1: 8

************

"Tell me; where do you think God is?"

"Why, He is within me and everywhere." I doubtless looked as bewildered as I felt.

"All-pervading, eh?" The saint chuckled. "Then why, young sir, did you fail to bow before the Infinite in the stone symbol at the Tarakeswar temple yesterday? Your pride caused you the punishment of being misdirected by the passer-by who was not bothered by fine distinctions of left and right. Today, too, you have had a fairly uncomfortable time of it!" -- Autobiography of a Yogi

My body aches.

What do you mean by "my"?

I mean that which is part of me.

Who is this me? Do you mean the "me" that has a mother and father?

Of course not. I mean the me that is spirit that was never born, that has always existed, the me that simply is.

Are you saying that it is the spirit "me" that aches?

Of course not!

Come on, make up your mind. Either you ache or you don't.

I see what you mean. Obviously, the me that is spirit cannot ache.

OK, so...

So, there must be another me that does ache.  More >

When You Know You're On a Wild Goose Chase 2 comments

Have you ever known you were on a wild goose chase and done it anyway? I had one earlier today.

As I planned to go into town later today, I figured I might as well use the Guildhall Library in the City and then go from there. That was the logical thing to do. After the initial "flurry of activity" of catching the bus I needed, I relaxed so I could enjoy the journey. It was then I had a knowing that the Guildhall was closed. I reasoned that it couldn't possibly be closed as it's only two days to Christmas; in any case, the other libraries are still open. But the knowing persisted. I didn't feel like getting off the bus. I reasoned that if it was closed I would head off into town. My knowing showed me an inner movie where I saw myself going to the library, being told it was closed, getting on another bus, and arriving at the library I normally use at 12 noon.  More >
