My American friend sent me a picture of him and his thanksgiving dinner guests. I guess he wanted to make me feel jealous as us Brits only have Christmas.

Here is his picture. My friend is the one in green.

So when do you Brits ruminate on what makes ye thankful?
Guy Fawkes day?
Besides being thankful to the native Americans for letting us steal this great land from them for a few beads and some worthless contracts,
I'm thankful for my eyes,
That let me see all of the beauty that there is in my world,
like sunrises,
and snow covering a tree that hasn't dropped it's leaves yet,
and faces,
and books to read others thoughts from,
and of course 'puter screens,
to scan the world wide conciousness...

Gee, my friend in that neighborhood is a big guy with pretty yellow feathers. Maybe he was late getting there.

You're right, Brits are grateful to Guy Fawkes because if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have Guy Fawkes night (5 November) - the opportunity to pollute the environment with lots of fireworks and burning of effigies. Thank you, Guy Fawkes! ;-)

Apart from Guy Fawkes, Brits have nothing to be grateful for. We already rules the waves. It is you, Yanks, that should be grateful to us in the first place for allowing you to live in your land of freedom. Always remember your land is only on lease and we are the freeholders. :-D
