The ultimate function of the postconscious, truth, should guide its executive, the conscious. But in the human case the conscious is in command so that many false versions of truth are recognised, most thinking is automated, and any action is possible

Newslog Automation of the Human Mind

Earth’s humans have an artificial history imposed by competitive instinct, not a genuine history advised by high intelligence. Our thinking has been limited to our conscious minds which have directed us according to the dictates of reality, not according to broad reason.

Humans established themselves at the top of nature’s instinctive hierarchy, adopting a variety of living systems according to their different circumstances. None had the advantage of a completely reasoned example to follow because their postconscious minds had either not yet developed one or, having discovered it, could not persuade them to take it on board.

Eventually our self-restriction to the lores of nature was overtaken by the values of a developing competitive/economic Machine. Dominance passed to money-capital which went hand-in-hand with inventiveness – the Industrial Revolution. Our conscious minds/selves were given apparent freedom to invent, but in fact were instructed what was to be invented by the Machine, generally for its benefit and often against the best interests of humanity. We increasingly pursued the instinctive drives, taking them to extremes aided by advancing technology. This pursuit might have started as a means to an end, but became an end in itself.

In nature fighting is largely symbolic, a practice of instinct designed to settle local disputes without undue violence or injury. The true mind would have recognised the value of this instinct, and retained it. Private individuals mostly did so, but the conditioned collective human mind rejected it. The human race became warlike in character. Had we been guided by pure reason untold unnecessary suffering and destruction would have been avoided.

War became common and continual. As humanity adopted the principles of large scale power and possession, fighting was often between professional armies, and to the death. With the coming of nationhood, national disputes were settled by law supported by authority. But international disputes, between authorities and not controlled by effective international laws, often cause large scale wars, with remote-control highly destructive weapons bringing death and disaster not only to armies but also to huge numbers of civilians.

Leading authorities subjugated people to the Machine that they themselves served, pushing them into factories and conscripting them into armies. The authorities were supported by religions which taught good morality but also obedience to the authoritative system that generally did not reflect such goodness

The money economy coupled with inequality and deprivation causes crime that is dealt with by law enforcement. Competition supports inequality and gives rise to disputes that are tackled by politics.

All these confused and contradictory affairs of reality impose themselves upon individual conscious minds, automating them and making it hard for them to think truly. The conscious mind is left to choose which of this reality’s attitudes, opinions, beliefs or faiths to prefer and adopt, making a mental Machine-pattern that forms the conscious self’s character, which then becomes the basis of it’s individual thinking.

Evolution theory seems to be the basis for this thinking, eh?.... hence some difficulties!.... Not taking in account any other parts of Universe but Earth... can be a huge mis-calculation in thinking LOGIC...
We know Darwin was a big scam ... with an order from "higher sources" to come up with CUSTOM TAILORED "SCIENTIFIC THEORY" /"Science", that would be used to further the goal of the ones who put in the order/ paid Darwin... But... lo & behold... there's much more to Life than fighting competing in a "Cosmic Soup" -or for a place in the "Cosmic Soup" - as for instance the Cosmic Soup being conscious!....

LIFE only knows Itself = LIFE!
Life begets only Life. Life only begets Life. Only Life begets Life! That is good place to start -if one has to!.... Death consciousness did / does not, I do not believe at all, originate from LIFE ITSELF... but from ... maybe the Living Things Life created... because of 'something' what today would be called 'Psychology'!... even animals' psychology. Just a thougt .... -that I'm not being paid for by any CRONIES/CROOKS with 'self-interests' to guard... Darwin's Employers

The basis of my thinking is the quest for truth, humantruth, moral truth. I am acquainted with only the rudiments of Darwin, enough to deduce that the summit of evolution is when ultimate intelligence is achieved – in Earth’s case with the mutation that produced the human species. I see no reason why the same process should not apply wherever life exists elsewhere in the universe. The important thing is that those species who do achieve ultimate intelligence should live by it and not by instinct as we presently do. Instinct is an evolved compulsive survival strategy for animals that cannot survive without it. Intelligent species such as humans who decline the guidance of their higher mind, the postconscious, and, wilfully relying instead on their lesser mind, the conscious, pursue the competitive drives of instinct with sometimes spectacularly beautiful but often utterly disastrously senselessly cruelly immoral results.
