New Civilization News: Sense of Warning
 Sense of Warning30 comments

Just wondering: has anyone else had a powerful sense of "warning" in the last day or so? I awoke this morning with a powerful sense of "something-wrong". It was the same feeling I had just before 9/11.

Followup: What was the warning?
......

An Interesting Question (at least to me) - I've been doing a quite a bit of thinking about what happenned early this morning. What was the warning that I somehow got? The bottom line is that I don't yet know what it was that I sensed. But I have a few thoughts.

Those in the PSI room know that I am very interested in parapsychology. What is field consciousness? What happens when we recieve intuitive messages? How can we learn to more reliably discern what we percieve via the listenner within?

It turns out that today was not a particularly good day for alot of people. Several people wrote comments in the log entry that indicated rather negative events happenning. Also, my sense from what I'm hearing from other NCN'ers, and others elsewhere, is that the aggregate level of stress and concern is very high out there. We live in trying times, as if we were somehow stuck at the threshold of crisis. My sense is that the psychic warning mechanism is on a hair trigger.

In addition, my understanding is that what metaconscious/intuitive warnings give us are not an absolute prediction, but a sudden shift in probability. What many parapsychologists say is that what we are sensing are waves and currents of potentiality. Prophets in the religious context are said to arrive to describe our choices and alternatives - and what might be the potential consequences of those choices.

In quantum-speak, I suspect that we are discerning without collapsing, the myriad of inter-related wavefunctions of the universe. If we were to turn these into solid knowledge without uncertainty, this would constitute a "measurement", thus collapsing possibility (wave) into actuality (particle). Thus, via PSI, we can percieve only probabilities and we therefore have to deal with the resulting uncertainty.

Still, there was alot of emotion in what I felt this morning. And there didn't seem to be much uncertainty associated with it. Yet, it has since dissipated, and I don't really feel it now, any longer. Maybe it was just a nightmare, maybe something "local" that I had heard on the news (which I generally avoid), or maybe some other way exists to explain it. All I can say is that it sure seemed powerful to me at the time.

Thanx everyone, for all your comments.

2 Dec 2003 @ 06:45 by jstarrs : I don't have it any more than...
...usual but I put it down to my own insensitivity.
In general (for me), there's always been 'something wrong' but it's more like a sense of disatisfaction that seems to be inherent in life itself....hence my path!!!

Thanx for the note, Jeff.
This was big-time. It hit me like a ton-a-bricks this morning as I wokeup. My wife goes to work about an hour before I do, and I called her to make sure she was OK (she was OK, by the way).

2 Dec 2003 @ 08:35 by craiglang : Just wondering
I wonder if it might be something I picked up locally - say, in "exposure" to the news. That's always good enough to give one a sense of disaster... :-)

2 Dec 2003 @ 08:39 by scotty : I've slept badly these
last two nights - been getting up in the middle of the night with a feelig of something .... not quite right - I put it down to the general upset here in the logs at the moment !

2 Dec 2003 @ 08:42 by shawa : Since 9/11...
...it´s difficult to get a sense of what is "out of kilter"! EVERYTHING seems out of kilter, most of the time! Thanks for sharing, Craig. I hear that kind of warning, especially coming from someone as sensitive as you.

2 Dec 2003 @ 08:53 by martha : I also
have slept poor for three nights and while the logs and being abused is certainly part of it, I feel there is more.

2 Dec 2003 @ 08:58 by scotty : Oh gawd
I hope not !
maybe it's just the time of year - not enough sun or the days are simply too short !

Maybe we've changed since 9/11 maybe something in us is 'listening' to the as yet indefinable !

2 Dec 2003 @ 09:34 by craiglang : Emotions
I've noted feeling quite a bit of emotion in the last week or two. I've assumed that it's just been due to the season - short days, lotsa dark, etc...
But I also wonder if there's more to it. Yesterday, I had a strong sense of "out there", if that makes any sense. A sort of a yearning for the divine.

2 Dec 2003 @ 09:40 by bushman : Hmm
I feel like our reality has been sucked into some sort of parallel universe, everything feels wierd and backwards. Like nothing is clearly obviouse anymore.

2 Dec 2003 @ 09:44 by waalstraat : Bushman
Me too! you described the feelings I have had the last few days very well...whewwww

2 Dec 2003 @ 10:26 by azangel : Hi Craig... I wanted to let you know
I made it to Robbinsdale after a 5 day journey from Phoenix. I felt compelled to respond to your post this morning. I have had 2 restless nights of off and on sleeping and am definately adjusting to not only the extreme cold (extreme to me, coming from Phoenix :)) but also to the short, dark days. You mentioned above about media events maybe giving you a sense of gloom. A thought occurred to me when reading your post regarding the local student who was kidnapped last week.. evidently, they have arrested a suspect but have still not located the young woman. I first caught news of this last night... maybe this could be contributing to your sense of gloom.. just an idea that occurred to me..... I will be in touch soon.

Hi Laura, Thanx for the note.
Welcome to the frigid northland... :-)
I haven't really followed the news much - especially locally. Methinks that if it is any one thing that isn't 'non-local', it's probably news of something more world-wide - or at least large-scale. That's what it feels like to me, anyhow.
Thanx again, and welcome to glacier country... :-)

2 Dec 2003 @ 10:55 by craiglang : Nothing so far...
In the past, when I've had this sense, the event was pretty immediate. And I haven't heard of any big news so far, so maybe/hopefully I'm wrong about it.

2 Dec 2003 @ 13:54 by hgoodgame : I have also experience this anxiety
to a greater degree than normally (whatever that is), a feeling that something big is in process of manifesting. Same with not sleeping well. Hmm, guess we'll see soon enough. :)

2 Dec 2003 @ 14:25 by vaxen : sure...
Ive had it all my life, baba. you may be interested in General Tommy Franks comments about next years 'election.' He portends another 'terror' attack, worse than 9/11, that will establish a military dictatorship under guess who?

If 'Waco' and the destruction of 'Posse Comitatis' did'nt wake this people up then nothing will!

PS: I left a link to the forums, too, in the Asylum.

2 Dec 2003 @ 14:49 by craiglang : Well
One minor thing (I suppose that it's major if you work in the building I do) our power went out. Does that count? ... :-)

2 Dec 2003 @ 14:51 by craiglang : Also,
maybe the prospect of Yellowstone blowing up adds to the excitement. Golly it's fun to live in such adventurous times... :-)

2 Dec 2003 @ 16:58 by vibrani : yes
a sense of anxiety in the air....something pending. Seemed to have peaked yesterday. My husband and I both felt it.

2 Dec 2003 @ 16:59 by vibrani : and
yesterday there was a pretty large quake in China. I'm on the lookout for So. Cal, too, with quakes right now.

2 Dec 2003 @ 17:38 by scotty : I just found out
what caused my unrest these last few days - a family matter - once again !
Ill be in touch one way or another soon and let you know !

bye for now !

2 Dec 2003 @ 17:47 by vibrani : Same here
for one possibility and not the only one - a cousin of mine found out today her cancer returned after 4 years of being cancer-free. Not good news.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oohh, my sympathies. How is she doing?
Let me know what her name is, and I will put her in my prayers.
Thanx,
-Craig
Thank you very much, Craig. I sent it to you in a message.
2 Dec 2003 @ 18:47 by spiritseek : On swannys log..
is a chart of the alignment of the planets during the Harmonic Concordance. This maybe why we all are sleeping restlessly and feeling something big is happening.
2 Dec 2003 @ 19:19 by vibrani : Sleep?
what's that?
2 Dec 2003 @ 19:42 by craiglang : I'll let you know...
after I log a few hours of it... :-)
2 Dec 2003 @ 19:54 by vibrani : lol
whatever we might be feeling - hope it's building towards something good!
3 Dec 2003 @ 05:27 by scotty : strange !
earlier on this year I couldn't sleep - felt ill suddenly for a couple of days only to find out that my eldest brother had passed away !
Last night my son phoned me to tell me that my daughter in law had died in her sleep on saturday night !
I wasn't particularty close to her but I think I've maybe been picking up the shock and distress of my wee grandson ! (he's only just turned eleven !)
So - am I picking up distress signals or is it just once again a coincedence ?
3 Dec 2003 @ 05:36 by spiritseek : maybe...
our senses and abilities have been heightened through this alignment. I do feel like I have more abilities but not dramaticly different.
3 Dec 2003 @ 05:49 by swan : I felt the energies of the
Harmonic Concordence were powerful for me and I feel more intuitively sensitive as well. Just a thought to add to this thread. There is a sense of danger and uncertainty right before birth ( real birth and metaphoric) as well, so that feeling doesn't necessarily have to mean something negative is happening.
3 Dec 2003 @ 13:33 by vibrani : And more on energies
we are in the holiday season and a new year is coming.
3 Dec 2003 @ 14:06 by bushman : Figgured out.
I think I know what I was feeling. I just found out one of the children I play with at Hawkeye RV park, was killed in an auto accident a few days ago, one of the most loving children I know in this world is gone. :{
3 Dec 2003 @ 14:12 by vibrani : Geez, Bushman
sorry to hear that.
3 Dec 2003 @ 14:14 by craiglang : Wow,
That's yet another event...
I've heard of alot of individual things happenning to people.
My condolences to the child's family, and all those touched by the loss.
