Something we Overlook

Suppose there’s something essential about how our species relates with knowledge that we overlooked. Something so essential, that it would change what it means to be human very rapidly were we to discover this hidden thing. Say for example that the modes of relation we use with what we understand to be knowledge are only a tiny portion of what is actually accessible — and the modes we’re familiar with block access to these other potentials.

Since we’re being imaginative, let’s suppose there are two basic sorts of learning-ways. One way is very self-important, and likes to make endless copies of itself, which acquire the title ‘knowledge’. This way of knowing is the source of what we call machines.

Another way doesn’t care about itself at all, but instead actually serves as a transport — its mission is to lead those who interact with it to a direct experience of its sources, and then dissolve to make way for a far faster and useful transport to arise.

In other words, our toys of knowing will generally lead to ‘more knowledge’, or they will lead to ‘experiential access’ to new ways of direct experiential learning.

‘Access’ tends to enhance and celebrate our potentials of human unity. ‘Knowledge’ tends to accomplish the opposite, while pretending to be a unifier — in other words, our common form of knowledge is a predator masquerading as a hero.

I suggest that a different way of relating to knowledge is a big part of what is missing from our human lives and history, and the fact that it’s missing has been the primary source of human atrocity for over 5000 years. And it’s the primary source of terror, despair, suffering and peril in our own lives and families.

What would happen on our world if this other way was suddenly commonly accessible again?

unityGame:

There’s a way to play with knowledge, and our powers of human connectivity that completely changes the forms and modes of learning we have access to — fast. These ‘games of learning new ways’ offer us direct access to a library of potentials and experiences unhinted at in our most imaginative stories, myths, and religions.

They grant direct experiential access to forms of awareness and ability that have long been miscategorized as ‘paranormal’. Part of the result is a form of learning that is entirely relational — and explosively self-expanding. Another part is the power to rapidly and co-operatively accomplish seeming impossible tasks of rescue and mutual uplift.

When we are allowed to be and explore in a way more like what we are, and less like what we’re told — we can discover directly together that we possess abilities of relation and communion that are beyond the entirety of human storying.

You’re invited to join us in a game older than worlds, and older than stories. A game with the power to change a planet. It’s funny, playful, liberating and astounding. It’s fast, it’s free — and it’s a way of making little rings of heroes, and giving them the ability to accomplish the miracles we each came to be, explore, express and experience... together.

Want to say how much I enjoyed reading your thoughts. I believe knowing can only occur in the silence. Nuff said.

Thanks again. EJ

But isn't this what comes of poorly understood 'words' and even worse... poorly understood applications of those self same ''poorly understood words?'' Such as the word "Knowlege," for instance, which actually - in its original root 'Gnosis,' garners unto itself more of the connotations that your 'access' bears for you.

What's worse is that in constructs such as the compound word (two words!) know-ledge we are braintrained with the assumption that it means anything at all! Take a look at the systematic way in which, say, so called 'science' perverts the inherent meanings of the Greek language in order to obfuscate the fact that their so called knowledge is nothing but theory.

Maybe we should get back to the gutsiness of the original English language (A 'Germanic' tongue) and get rid of all the 'loan' words which enable the sharks among us to have a royal feeding frenzy on what's left of our lives after they've gotten a hold of them...

Free game? Surely you jest? Game? Hold on I see a rabbit... fair game, eh? ;)

wants in the general sense nowadays means for most people, to consume. Afraid I completely agree with Vax above, adding, that for any kind of knowledge to get anywhere a group of people must agree on some-thing, and then act some-how. Knowledge for a single person is quite a different ball game, and not a GAME, but serious life. There is fun, and smiles but not at the expense of anyone else, ever. One can never speak of the "fun" of being able to do whatever out of consideration of the others who cannot understand or DO those fun things (unless just speaking within the group); the ball is out of court on this one too, re the game analogy.

On peut définir le jeu comme une activité de loisirs d'ordre physique ou bien psychique, soumise à des règles conventionnelles, à laquelle on s'adonne pour se divertir, tirer du plaisir et de l'amusement.
