It's been going on for decades, and many, many people are aware that they are essentially a mafia. The lower and middle management and agents of both agencies think they are working for patriotic/american agencies whose intentions are good for the public, so they're not aware of what goes on with the upper eschelons and the other factions of the agencies. So these good agents present a good face at their churches, with their church-going wives and all (believe me, I have known people who are a part of this charade). But so many, many people know what these agencies are really up to, so don't think we've all been duped.
