Many people miss the Psalms which used to be sung regularly in special services, in one's own language. Steeped in Old Testament, and written by a people who seemed to truly believe, this belief appears to come out in the words. There are several ways to interpret of course, depending on which reference base one uses. They represent an very ancient form of harmony with the universe expressed, which it is easy to imagine still holds. My own OT story concerns the significance of the Lion and incorporates the very ancient practices of yoga as they were done in Egypt. The continued use of the Lion as symbol in places of revere shows new forms of expressions and application of this particular OTestament Myth, the most famous being Daniel in the Lions Den, where he was put to test his faith, the very same belief of the Early Kingdom Egyptians. The avenue of Lions on the Island of Delphi signifies a test of belief and faith to the visitors to the Sancturary there. And the lastly the putting of the Christians in the Collesseum in Rome to the lions to test their faith was the ultimate debasement by the Romans masses down for their faithless amusement, according to their old myths.
Let us not immitate the Roman masses with the findings of this Ancient Book of Psalms in Dulbin. The the original truly ancient Egyptians practiced enlightenment, and the test was to enter into the courtyard where tame lions were kept (there were no horses in those days and chariots were pulled by Lions). If the Lions attacked the person who entered to test his level of enlightenment, it signified that this person lacked "love" in the meaning required, and was mere mortal. If the Lion, the animal which signifies Love more than all others, according to these ancients, put his head in submission and affection to the person on the enlightenment path, it signified to the house of "priests" etc that this person had achieved Enlightenment and was one with God, etc etc. The story of the lions recently protecting a woman being raped by a gang in Ethiopia falls into the same category I believe.
The same mysteries are contained in the Psalms, our oldest Book.
